Mark's 69 Wrote:Replaced the badly worn distributor intermediate shaft and installed new plugs gapped at .050". She's running the best she has since I installed the cd ignition and fuel injection. It still has a little stutter while cruising and the afr is going to 15.9 at full throttle again but it pulls hard and will spin the tires easily. My wife made the point that it has been learning with the engine running like garbage so it might sort itself out once I put some miles on it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because every time I think I have it fixed it starts acting up again. Oh, and I found out I can change the plugs without loosening the one header by grinding flats into a short 5/8" socket and turning it with a wrench.
Do these efi have a built in MAP sensor? Glad to here you are getting it sorted out.
Yep, Map sensor, throttle position, air inlet temp, coolant temp, RPM, and O2 sensors.
I've moved the coil to the inner fender since I took this picture, I thought maybe it was interfering with the closest injector. Also the vacuum advance is hooked to ported, that helped a lot too.
That really looks good, Mark!!!!
I know you had some difficulties. But you 've solved them and it really looks great.
Here is the one that started it all fo me. 69RR bought in 71 for $2100.00.
Just thought you may like to see it. It was the first car Diana and I bought. We sold it for $1000.00 to help buld our home in 76.
It did not survive.
Looks great Mark, I hope to venture into a EFI system someday.

But you survived Fran , nice pic
Thanks guys. Took it out yesterday and that is the first time I enjoyed driving it since the installation. Even though I did not find any fault with the fuel injection, the fact that it was a used system added too many variables to the trouble shooting. I would never go that route again.
What FI did you go with?

FAST EZefi 1.0 Complete set up minus the O2 sensor and fuel pump. Most of the wires still had labels so that part wasn't too difficult.
After 14" of rain in the last 4 weeks during monsoon season in southern Arizona I got mine spit polished and took it to a Mopar only show it Tucson on one of first dry afternoons in a long time.

It is like a bug light at the shows, people just stand and stare. They can't look away Smile
