No..but I am regretting sharing my pictures with her... now they are all over the 'net!
Decided to give the old Poly some love today & treated her to a new crossover pipe. According to my shop manual, the only '66 that came with a balance pipe was the hemi so I figured since the poly is sort of a hemi, why not? I thought it might help diminish the "flow through muffler drone" that I get up to 50 mph. Anyway, the local shop did an awesome job - custom cut, bent & fitted the pipe even making sure the new pipe actually fit into the newly cut holes in the head pipe. Total cost? A whole $79. Cdn - tax in! Still got the drone, although I think it has reduced somewhat but who cares, this thing is just plain cool!!47524751
It is cool Harold, nice up grade
Crossovers usually reduce he annoying drone, not eliminate it. Does it at least make it so you don't get a headache on the highway?
Highway's never been a problem. Once I hit 50 mph, the droning completely disappears - just like I threw a switch.
Rebuilt the Gary Williams dominator for the race car. Throttle shaft /bushing clearance was not good (0.010 - 0.015") so I made new bushings. Thought I would take the car out last night for the first time this year, but it was too hot and I was too tired.
Not too happy with that carb, so I ordered a Quick Fuel large 1050 dominator and sheer plate - flows around 1100 cfm. Can't wait to get it and give it a try!
