Qtr emblems. We all know how unobtainable these are. Had em rechromed and finished painting them. What a pain it is to paint chrome!!!
Wow nice work. What paint colors did you use? I need to do mine.
Agree, those turned out VERY nice!
I did krylon fusion satin for the black. Maybe a hair to glossy.
Testors Ford engine red....grrr for the red.
I have a reproduction emblem (doesn't fit) along with an original. The color on the original is almost a slight orangish red versus the deeper red on the repro. I just picked the ford one since it looked like a happy median between the two. You can't really tell how the paint is gonna look without using it so. Also the originals are probably faded from years in the elements.
ps If anyone knows how to get paint to stick to chrome I wanna know the secret!
67 RT can you post a picture of the back if you haven't already mounted the emblems. I purchased a set but I'm not sure if they are repro on not. They came in open oem packageing. Thanks
Here ya go. The ones I have that are repro have two sets of part numbers where the original pictured has one set. These like everything else on a 67 are one year only pieces. They are sometimes sold as fitting 67 & up but the qtr contours are totally different and it makes the repro's "rock".

Carpet in. Year one stuff and pretty happy with it. Only thing is the jute is a little skimpy. Thinner and not in all the areas the factory put it. What a pain cutting and trimming! First time I've ever done it.
I was gonna dynamat the floor but the price of that stuff annoyed me. So after some forum surfing a few guys mentioned this frost king adhesive backed foil from the home stores. I bought a couple rolls of the adhesive stuff and a roll of jute backed foil for some additional padding and sound deadening. I covered most of the areas with the adhesive stuff and then padded other spots. I hope it helps with heat more than anything. Let's face it this isn't going to be a whisper quiet Sedan but if it cuts down on the undesired noises and temps great! And the stuff was only $18 a roll.
Those really look nice. And your chrome guy does great work. I was told that using self etching primer first will help keep the paint on.

I had a decent set I sent out, and they got ruined. Was very disappointed. Was supposed to be a guy who knows what he's doing.

The reason why there are none available is that Chrysler superseded the original 288.... with the 69 290... number and none were ever made again. So any 67 ones were made in 67 or maybe 68 if they even did that.

If I can ever get my letters squared away, I would love to reproduce them.
Is that FSK wrap?
It's not fiberglass based insulation. They had fiberglass as well but went with the other one. Looks like the repro carpet jute.
