Fuel filler neck install - '55 Dodge
Posted by: dodge55 - 06-17-19, 12:47 PM - Forum: DIY Tech Forum - Replies (2)

I saw a post for installing for a '69. Anyone had any experience with the '55 or '56? The bottom part of the neck is wedged between the frame and the body. Do you have to raise the body off the frame to remove? I can't figure out how to get it off. There isn't much room to negotiate the turns. That wouldn't be convenient to have to raise the body.

Oops, Trying to compete with Rich - Kinda
Posted by: markz - 06-13-19, 07:58 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Kinda trying to compete with Rich on spending money on Coronets. Except mine is a new and improved power plant for the race car. Clearly the existing 786 hp motor did not have enough power, so I am blowing the combo up and going a different direction. Sold the Indy SR heads today. Basically gonna reuse the megablock and all else will be new.

Will go from a 528 to 572 cubic inch and will have B1 MC heads. Target is 950 hp but might creep towards 1000 hp. Tony Bischoff (BES) will build it.

It will flirt with getting that 3500 lb aerodynamic brick in the 8's..............

  Is it possible?

The water pump was leaking on my convertible so I went ahead and replaced it. I was surprised to see a Chrysler p/n - could it be the original? That would mean it was 53 years old!

  Dubois, Pa Cars and Coffee

We to my first car and coffee event and saw a car with a turbo charged, methanol injection aluminum V8. Only thing is that it was all factory equipment on an Oldsmobile Jetfire from 1963!

What's it worth, not Coronet related
Posted by: Mark's 69 - 05-23-19, 03:06 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

I'm looking at buying this 4 speed for my Dart project. It obviously needs an input shaft and bearing retainer. It comes with a bell housing with clutch fork, Z-bar, Z-bar ball stud and service kit, Mr. Gasket shifter with short straight shifter handle and all the shift linkage and a slightly used flywheel and clutch that need resurfaced for surface rust.
Opinions?
Bearing retainer is broken but I can't upload the picture.

  '67 after all the upgrades
Posted by: Piper - 05-22-19, 05:25 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

Took the car for a ride, with the Caltracs and 50/50 in the back new suspension in the front (front shocks set at 80/20) it rides a lot better, (It does float a bit I'll admit).

Here is a sunny ride through a country road in what looks like Kansas.

I am pushing the paint and body work off until the winter, so Ill have it for Carlisle for certain which is pretty cool Smile

Bring paint back (even if temporary)
Posted by: Piper - 05-03-19, 12:17 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (28)

What do you think I could use to shine the paint up with? Its only temporary the car is getting body work and paint before Carlisle.

I used some Meguiars on my Charger and it came up amazing for old paint, the same didnt work on the Coronet.

I was thinking either a rubbing compound or a 2000 grit wet sand, or maybe its so far gone it was painted in 1976!

Not taking this too seriously and want to have fun with it and not spend a lot of money, its all coming off soon anyway but..do want it to look just a little bit better cruisin around in OCMD in a couple weeks Smile
