  Rear Axle Swap?
Posted by: roadworthy - 04-27-19, 08:33 PM - Forum: The Early Years - Replies (4)

Anyone attempted this on the early models? I'm tired of the sub-par rear brakes and lack of parking brake, and having a better highway gearing would be cool. It's no race car, so slow starts aren't really an issue

  69 Coronet No Hidden VINs
Posted by: Macdon221 - 04-20-19, 12:08 AM - Forum: The Muscle Car Years 1965-1970 - Replies (1)

Looked at a car today. No hidden VINS on the trunk rail. None. Also no VIN on rad support. None.

Any reasons why?

Also...did all Coronets, even the 318’s have these VINS stamped into the rad bracket and trunk lid deck?

Thanks

While I'm waiting for the rest of my suspension to get here I upgraded the circuit board and added some LEDs with some fresh needle paint and overlays.

Hooked it all up but the dash doesnt light up..so that's tomorrow night's adventure

I have 30 days until OCMD so trying to straighten out as much as I can to make it enjoyable!

  G'Day from Oz
Posted by: AussieMatt - 03-28-19, 01:42 AM - Forum: New Members - Replies (3)

G'day all,

New member in Alice Springs in the middle of Australia.

I have a 1967 4 door Dodge Coronet which I'm in the process of doing up. Obviously as this car wasn't released in Oz, I can't buy parts of the shelf here for it. Just after some advise on the best place to buy parts (ie. steering / brake components, ball joints those sorts of things) who will ship to Oz. Also, as it is 4 wheel drum brakes, I'd like to convert at least the front to discs. Can you point me in the direction of someone who does disc brake conversions.

Sorry if this stuff is covered somewhere else on this forum. I'm happy to be directed to the appropriate threads.

Thanks in advance
Matt

  1965 coronet 440 wedge I.D.
Posted by: danielgbrooks@yahoo.com - 03-26-19, 08:33 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

As amazing as this might seem I have located what the seller is telling me is a 65 coronet 440, and it originally came with a factory 426 wedge automatic. How can i verify this for a fact? he also has what he's telling me is the original motor and trans. what numbers should I be looking at to verify this? I'm assuming the numbers on the motor/trans should match the car somehow right?
From what i'm finding on the internet the motor size is not in the vin located inside front drivers door, it must be on the plate on the fender.
The cars pretty much rust free but is a basket as the whole thing needs put back together/painted/interior, etc. What kind of number should I be throwing at him?
And no, i'm not telling you where it's at,lol.
Thanks, Dan.

  Paddle shifter
Posted by: jaketin - 03-24-19, 08:39 PM - Forum: Modernize your Coronet - No Replies

I have 68 Coronet. I do engine swap and it´s under construction. Next motor will be 5.7 Hemi. I keep 727 transmission and i bought gear vendors, too. Now on my mind is master shift`s paddle shifter, "next" generation shifter http://mastershift.com/ Does anyone has experience of that shifter??
