  Dash installed
Posted by: mike1968rt - 10-23-18, 12:04 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

Doing some last minute before the weather turns work on my car. I put in the firewall and dash insulation, the rebuilt heaterbox, wiper arm linkage, and dash. It sure was nice assembling the dash while it was out of the car! I also put in the vent window frames and all the side glass. I changed the manual windows to power, and the untinted glass to tinted. Some of the pics are before the dash was installed. I repainted the dash frame and all the components (the bezel was done professionally), refaced all the gauges and heater controls, and put in a quartz movement for the clock.

  Wiper motor rebuild
Posted by: mike1968rt - 10-23-18, 11:50 AM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (5)

I am rebuilding a three speed wiper motor for my '68 Coronet RT. It was very dirty and the wires from the motor to the harness have the insulation broken and missing. When I cleaned it up the switch plate is a red/maroon color. Can someone tell me, or better yet post a pic of the original color?

  Airtemp switch buttons sticking?
Posted by: 67r/t4speeder - 10-22-18, 12:44 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (9)

On My `67 Dart it has A/C so I have the push button controls for heat/ defrost, the buttons are tight to go in feeling like it might break if I keep it up and the fan won't come on unless buttons is most the way in. The unit works fine so would rather keep this one than buying new.

I was wondering if anyone played around with servicing the assembly or simply lubing somehow?

  4 speed crank
Posted by: mike1968rt - 10-15-18, 12:41 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (5)

I understand that when using a 4 speed tranny, there is a bushing that must be installed in the back of the crank. My question is; do all cranks have the hole for that bushing? If you have an engine that came out of an automatic car, can it be used in a 4 speed car?

Greetings all, just introducing myself. My name is michael and I’m new to this classic car thing, but I’m realizing quick how frustrating it can be. I come to the forum to read and learn. I may not talk much, but know I appreciate all the knowledge y’all share. Thanks in advance.

  WIW - my car
Posted by: OldSkool - 09-15-18, 07:53 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

Hi Folks,

The wife asked me yesterday if my car was worth more or less than I paid for it. I had to admit I had no idea. I looked on all the major pricing sites and nobody prices the 4-door (yeah, I know 2 are cooler). So, esteemed experts, what's it worth? Ballpark? Just curious. Thank you for any thoughts.

  Wire cleanup

What is a cleaner way to route the wires for the MSD and fuel pump rather than have them hang off the positive cable? Its a mess in here
