Santa brought me what I'd consider to be the hardest to find NOS piece for my 67 that I've ever run across. I never even saw one before last week, and considering these guys only sold 15-20 new cars a year back then, I figured they didn't even exist: 11259

  Old question with a twist
Posted by: sirjustice - 12-11-17, 04:15 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Well seems that all the threads that I can find about wheel/tire size are mostly focused in the rear end. Now, I know that a I can fit a 275/60R15 in a 8'' wide wheel IF it is at least 4.5 in backspace.

But! what about the front end? I have a couple of 245/60R15 Cooper Cobra's and I'm wondering IF this could fit.

BTW, I just can't test by installing them because I haven't get a set of wheels.
Cheers!

  Shoulder belt sag
Posted by: mike1968rt - 11-27-17, 01:49 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

Hauled some parts down to KY, and while there worked on a few things. Nick's '69 Coronet had sagging shoulder belts, due to the elastic that is supposed to hold them tight being stretched out. I had found belts at the U-pick junkyard from a C-body that were not as faded as his originals, due to the southern sun. I had to cut the replacements down a little, as the C-body belts are a few inches longer. I took some elastic, sewed it to the belt, then attached a snap to it. Pics of the results are posted. First pic is of the old elastic. The original elastic was green, but the store had only black and white, so I used the black. I'm sure many of you with these type shoulder belts have the same problem.

I also sprayed the spokes of a wood grain steering wheel with Molotow Liquid Chrome paint. (I have no relationship with this product) This product has a shine that is the closest to actual chrome that I have ever seen, for a one step, just shoot it on paint. It comes in paint sticks, but refills for the sticks are also sold. I took the refill, poured it into an air spray touch up brush, and just sprayed it on. In sunlight the reflectivity of this paint can be blinding. Pics posted.112221122311224112251122611227112281122911230

'55 coronet vent window u channel rubber
Posted by: dodge55 - 11-26-17, 11:18 PM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - Replies (1)

Anyone know where to find the u channel rubber that goes inside the vent glass chrome to hold the vent glass in place? I have a 4 door and all the internal rubber is bad. I have all new outer seal rubber, but don't know where to find the u channel.
