I bought this off Ebay, 5 bucks plus shipping. Has anyone seen one before. I am assuming it was a dealer item. No model number inside or out. On an antique radio site, one member says it was made by Lear. The knobs look like they are from a 1965/6 Dodge Polara radio. It's got to be one of the heaviest players ever made - 9 pounds.

Hello my name is Antonio from Mexico.

Just recently purchased a 1967 Dodge Coronet 440, my very fist "real" project car and I'm really excited to start to bring this car to new life.

I really enjoy when have oportunities like this, this is going to be excelent oportunity to learn new things so I will be hanging around asking for help and advice a lot!

As some members know, 1967 Mexican Coronets had Charger Grille while the rear lights and trim where from Corontes R/T. My car is almost complete in it's parts, I think that the only most important missing part is the front right parking turn light wich I will get as soon I locate one.

Here are a few pics taken shortly after get it.

  Deceptive Site Warning Update
Posted by: 67440Dodge - 10-28-17, 02:30 PM - Forum: Website How To's Help and Suggestions (not car related) - Replies (8)

After digging thru all the files on the board, Kevin having the web hosting folks dig thru the files and upgrade the board to the latest version, Firefox, Chrome and eventually Safari continued to say we were a site for phishing. We could not find any proof. The only hint I could find was a reference to the old chat program that was on here. I removed it but still received notice when trying to log in.

I tried an old trick of renaming where the forum is housed, and that seemed to resolve the problem. The only downside is if you bookmarked the forum directly, you'll need to change your bookmarks to the new URL. http://www.dodgecoronet.com/coronet

Have any questions? Ask away, I'll answer best I can.

I've been on Moparts.com for many years.

I like this Coronet specific site for questions to ask and hopefully answer.

One of my first cars after high school was a 66 Coronet 500.

I recently picked up a 67 500 convertible project, and that's what brought me here.

  Looking for Dad's 67
Posted by: Jay_Peetza - 10-26-17, 01:57 PM - Forum: Car History -- Build Sheet Lost & Found - Replies (2)

My friend's father, who passed away recently bought and owned a 67 Hemi Coronet. His dad sold it many years ago, and passed away recently. He is now looking for the car. I don't believe he is looking tonpurchase the car, but more to see if it's still around, and to get a feeling of being a little closer to his dad. I am assisting. Last info I found on the car, was the NHOA printed list, in 1990. Hoping maybe someone can help out.

VIN: WS23J71190262

I have several pictures, original sale sheet, as well as several other pieces of paperwork associated with the car. Just do not know how to post them on here, being new to this board.

Any help appreciated.

  LOUD "buzzing" behind speedometer...
Posted by: ViperMan - 10-19-17, 01:46 PM - Forum: The Early Years - No Replies

So I did a little research on this already, but literally the day after I bought my '56 Coronet a few weeks ago, I was on my maiden "hometown" voyage when the speedometer started to buzz. It had chattered just a tad on my test-drive before buying it, and the seller mentioned that it had just started doing that.

Well, I took it out last weekened for an actual cruise, and oh my GOD it was screaming at me by the time I got it home.

From what I've learned, it's either the cable or the speedometer gauge itself. I've read that you can disconnect the cable and see if it still does it - if so it's the cable, if not it's the speedo.

My question is, if it's the speedo, what are some likely culprits/fixes? I've read that some cars need a drop of 3-in-1 oil, some need a graphite-based dry lubricant, and some simply need rebuilt. In the case of the latter, does anyone have any recommended vendors that can restore these gauges?

Last question: any tips on removing the speedometer itself without tearing out the entire dash? I can see the back of the unit from under the dash, but I haven't started reaching up there yet. (When I do, I'm going to disconnect the battery first just to make sure there isn't any wiring up there that might have cracked/worn insulation and short out...)

Thanks!

Helloooo!! New member with a '56 2-Door Sedan
Posted by: ViperMan - 10-18-17, 11:36 AM - Forum: New Members - Replies (12)

Hey all! Jeff here from Western Ohio.

I just picked up a '56 Coronet 2-Door Sedan base model out of Connecticut for a great deal. I don't have many pictures yet, but here's one from they day after I got it home.

It's in absolutely phenomenal shape. I'm basically it's third "permanent" owner - the original owner sold it to a body shop owner about a decade ago, he held on to it for a little bit but did nothing with it, and then sold it to a long-time friend of his who hangs out at the shop a bunch. I bought it from that guy. The body shop replaced the rocker panels on it many years ago, but found nothing else on the car that needed work. They painted it in black primer and the most-recent owner had aspirations to rod it out a bit, but he enjoyed the fact that he could just hop in it and go to shows/meets, so he just left it together.

Me, my plans are to turn it into a true street rod - I'm going to upgrade the brakes (manual drum/drum to power disc/disc), add an air-ride suspension, shave the door handles and some trim pieces, chop the top 2-3 inches, and do a two-tone paint job. My plan is to spend 3-4 years working on it.

The first pic is current, the second pic is a Photoshop of my idea for it! (And yeah, I've already picked a better set of wheels!)
