  Deceptive site warning
Posted by: Mark's 69 - 09-14-17, 12:51 PM - Forum: Website How To's Help and Suggestions (not car related) - Replies (12)

Every time I try to enter the DCR I get a deceptive site warning from Google. I send a report each time that it is not a deceptive site but it still keeps popping up.
What gives?

  New Member - 67 R/T in PA
Posted by: 69L48Z27 - 09-05-17, 10:06 PM - Forum: New Members - Replies (10)

Hi,

Recently sold my 68 GTX and picked up a 67 R/T. I'm also over on FBBO with the same user name.

Car was sold here in the small town I still live in back in 67 and stayed here all its life. Last saw the road in early 1980. I've been working on getting this car and another for some time now.

Pictures on this site seem to be a challenge.

  '66/'67 Part Availablilty
Posted by: JimKueneman - 08-28-17, 10:40 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (14)

I was driving the back streets of a small town yesterday with my daughter as she was practicing for her driving test and low and behold I found a '66/'67 (can't tell them apart at a glance yet) Coronet 440 in primer grey. At first glance it looked like most of the trim was still there and the interior looked complete. It had plates but I am not sure if it was on the road or not.

I know parts are hard to find so what are the hardest parts to find for these old cars? I am really tempted to stop and ask about it, once I build up my nerve (not the best of neighborhoods)..... What would a solid 440 be worth (not sure what is under the hood). I am thinking if I can get a solid mostly original car for less than $5k I am doing good. Am I off base?

Jim

Max wheel and tire combo for a ´67
Posted by: Irores - 08-25-17, 08:12 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (5)

So tell me Coronet kings: What is the biggest wheel/tire combo one can fit under a ´67 Coronet with:
1. Stock wheelwell and suspension.
2. Stock wheelwell but outer fender lip removed.
3. Stock wheelwell and springs moved inboard with a kit.

Real life experiences only please.

A friend with að ´67 GTX tells me he can get bigger tires under his car by deflating them during mounting. Is that your experience too?

Noob on teh lookout with a question: Engine color
Posted by: Dingusboy - 08-24-17, 09:08 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

i have always found 67 R/T's to be one of the coolest cars out there. I do not own, but at some point in the future i hope to be cruising with the crowd. In the interim I keep looking and drooling.

My question is that i often seen 440 engines painted with red/orangish-red, almost like a hemi. Was there ever a factory engine color for a 67 440 other than the blue?

Looking for a windshield gasket for my 53 convertible

1107211071110731107411075Hi everyone. New member. I have a 53 Coronet convertible. Desperately looking for a replacement windshield gasket. The windshield only fits the 53 convertible (according to the glass vendor). Not sure. Tried Steele. No luck. Any ideas on what might fit?

  70 R/T wheels
Posted by: rocketsama - 08-20-17, 11:28 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (13)

Hi all, new to the site and thoroughly enjoying the read when I can.
I'm 6th owner of my 70 coronet R/T, had two of the original owners track me down here in New Zealand where the car lives, and sent me old info and some pics from the 80's when one owned it when he was 16yrs old. The car had mag wheels in the old photo from him, another owner said he put ralley's on it in the 90's and now I am trying to find out what the car originally had. My fender tag has no special code ref for wheels. Galen govier decoded the tag and from some of the information he sent the following.
STD "road wheels" 14x6 stamped steel- painted w/hubcaps - Coronet R/T
W11 - painted black w/delux wheel covers - optional
W13 - painted black w/deep dish covers - optional
W15 - painted black w/wire wheel covers - optional
W21 - 14x5.5 rallye wheels with trim rings - optional
W23 - 14x5.5 road wheels with trim rings - optional
15x7 stamped steel - painted body color w/hubcaps - optional
W21 - 15x7 rallye wheels with trim rings - optional

This leaves me with a question since my car does not have a special code for wheels on my tag. Would my car have originally come out with stamped steel wheels and would they have just been painted black with hubcaps? Since I do not have W23 on my tag saying that the wheels should be painted the body color. All original 70 R/T's I have seen on the net have the stamped steel wheels color coded to the car, so I am a bit confused. Perhaps all 70 R/T's had color coded steel wheels STD but they were 14 inch, and if you wanted 15 inch then you got a W23 on your tag.
Love to know what anyone thinks out there.
