Thanks for adding me. I am a retired factory guy (35 years with Mopar Service and Parts and last position was Senior Manager Mopar S&P for the West Business Center out of Phoenix). [FONT=&amp]I’ve owned 4 ‘70 Coronet 500 convertibles and one hardtop over the years as well as numerous other Mopars over the years (‘71 Cuda 340 convert, ‘70 barracuda Gran Coupe convert, ‘64 Sport Fury 426 wedge, AAR Cuda, and just sold a ‘71 Charger SE that appeared in the MCG oct issue). The new toy arrives in a couple of days... stay tuned [Image: 1f609.png]

My wife’s father had a 1968 Dodge Coronet RT Convertible w/440 with unbelievable maintenance records (Dr of Engineering). He special ordered the car in 1967 from Pullman, WA. We have inherited the car and want to do justice to this fine machine. The car is completely original, including paint and top...all in great working and looking shape! Been researching to see what is the best thing to do with car. We love the car, but not sure if it is best to keep it and drive it once a month, store it, or figure something else out. Any advice would be appreciated.

  '68 500 Convertible - Rear Speakers?
Posted by: Cappy - 11-06-20, 11:19 AM - Forum: Modernize your Coronet - Replies (2)

I don't believe there's any factory cutouts for rear speakers. Is it worth the time and risk to remove the rear kick plates for an inspection?

Any other feedback or ideas?

  Engine Install
Posted by: Arts67 - 09-29-20, 06:54 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (28)

Well it's that time, at least as far as I can tell. '67 Coronet, was a 318, about to have a '68 383 installed. The engine bay is empty except for the steering gear. The motor is bare of accessories as I figured the less stuff on it, the easier the install. I have the conversion mounts from Shumacher. Here is my question list

1. Should the mounts be on the engine or on the frame?
2. Install the mini starter now or after the engine is in place?
3. Do I need to do anything on the back end to make sure the tranny matches up later (727 auto)?
4. Any special tips? I have a standard 1T hoist and heavy duty chain that I was going to bolt to the block/heads rather than picking from the carb block off plate. I don't have the load leveler but could get that if it makes a huge difference.

Thanks again everyone.

  PCV / Breather Placement
Posted by: Arts67 - 09-24-20, 11:46 AM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (6)

Good Morning - '67 Coronet with '68 383 4V. The motor came with the chrome direct connection valve covers. They weren't in the best shape, so I cleaned them down and painted them to match the engine. On the motor back from the shop, they had the 2 port fill hole / breather on the driver side and the PCV on the passenger side. I didn't pay attention when putting them back on and reversed the sides. I looked up a bunch of pics and see some cars with them this way and others with them the other way. In my '67 service manual where it shows air-flow through the engine it says the breather is on the driver side as an "intake". The air moves through the engine and exits through the PCV on passenger side. With my current install, I'd have this reversed and am just wondering if it makes any difference. Thanks!
