  wood grain steering wheel restoration
Posted by: 31ctg - 03-28-21, 08:29 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Hello again, it has been a while. Some nice additions lately to the site.

Does anyone know who may restore the optioned steering wheel for the 69 coronet. I think they are called "wood grain", kind of a sporty steering wheel. My wood grain look has almost disappeared over the years. Kind of a specialty thing to focus on.

Thanks for any advice

Hello All! New member from CO
Posted by: dkimwar - 02-22-21, 03:03 PM - Forum: New Members - Replies (2)

Hi all! Daniel here with a 1966 coronet picked up in Sept. 2020. Car was a mess, but I'm slowly getting stuff done in between school. PO got a 440ci and a727 from a 72 charger to replace a missing 361, but never completed the swap. So far I've got the 440 rebuilt and cleaned up(one cyl sleeved, all 0.030 over, oem+ cam(like the magnum one I think)), trans rebuilt(did that with my dad and one of his friends, pretty fun rebuild tbh), and most recently, front suspension disassembled and we are currently assessing it to see what parts we need to replace(t-bar suspension is actually really cool btw). This car hasn't been drivable in like 20 years, sat in the PO's field for at least 8. If anyone has any miscellaneous information about the car that may be of interest to someone who is unfamiliar with this car and older cars in general, please feel free to share. Will update with pictures when I have a chance.

  Electronic distributor help
Posted by: dkimwar - 02-22-21, 02:29 PM - Forum: Modernize your Coronet - Replies (5)

I was hoping somebody here could help me identify a good stock look electronic ignition, or a good option for a replacement disributor for a 1972 440rb. Came out of a Charger and going into a 66 coronet. I've seen a thread about the pertronix iii + flamethrower iii coils, but I'm not sure what these look like, and if they're worth the cost.

  Driveshaft length help?
Posted by: dkimwar - 02-22-21, 02:22 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (7)

Hello all, new to the forum, but have a question regarding driveshaft length. I have a 1966 Coronet 440 with a 440ci and a727 from a 72 Charger as well as the factory 8 3/4 rear end. What length driveshaft should I be looking for and where should I go to get it? Also, any help on finding the right engine mounts would be valuable as well. Thanks!

  Rest in Peace John

The old time die hard members of the board may remember MoparJohn. John owned a ultra rare Charger with the factory sunroof. If you've ever met him at Carlisle, he was one of the nicest guys in the tent, and pretty much inseperable from TomDropTop.

Kevin informed me that John passed away yesterday morning. No reason is known yet, nor are there any announced plans for services. Once Kevin hears more he'll either post them or when I find out I'll post them here as well.

Rest in Peace John, you were one of the good guys.

Mike

In Search of '70 Big Block AC Discharge line
Posted by: RHORNE14 - 01-23-21, 03:13 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Looking for a correct '70 B-body 383 / 440 AC discharge line. One model year piece where the tubes come out of the front of the muffler and the line runs across the front of the engine and over the radiator support on the passenger side of the engine to connect to the condenser. I also need a correct rear compressor brackets for a 440. The triangle bracket and the drivers side tube bracket. (different from a 383, Triangle bracket on a 440 is smaller and the tube is different shape)
