Progress on my 67 Coronet R/T
Posted by: Callingdrlove01 - 06-10-16, 11:31 AM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - Replies (120)

I've been restoring this car for several months now so I'll start from the beginning and try to get up to date with it. Here it is as I bought it.

  Brake warning light stays on
Posted by: 67RTBlue - 06-09-16, 07:24 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (7)

Why is it staying on? I've installed A body discs up front and a reproduction booster assembly for power brakes. The pedal seems firm and the car stops in the lot. Once in a while when the pedal is pushed to the floor firmly the light will go off (car running). I bled all four corners again today and cracked the lines at the master while holding the pedal down. Bench bled the master before install of course too. Distribution block is a new repro piece with new switch. The parking brake pedal is depressing the switch.
Am I missing something?? Something else to check?

Recently bought a 67 Coronet R/T to restore. May need some tips and parts leads!
Posted by: Callingdrlove01 - 06-09-16, 07:22 PM - Forum: New Members - Replies (9)

I'm usually an E body guy, but I love all Mopars. I've almost bought 3 other 67 R/T's over the years and I just had to have this one when I saw it.

This picture was taken the day after I got it home. Done a lot of work since then. Still a long way to go!

Looking for a build sheet for my 67 Coronet R/T
Posted by: Callingdrlove01 - 06-09-16, 06:53 PM - Forum: Car History -- Build Sheet Lost & Found - No Replies

VIN WS23L75131821

I was told the car spent it's entire life in Effingham, Illinois until it was bough at auction last year. I bought it after that because the guy
had too many projects. It's a long shot, but maybe it's out there.

  Wheel stud Knurl size
Posted by: Hibbing_Coronet_500 - 06-09-16, 06:05 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (2)

I ordered a Goodson wheel stud swedge cutter. I am going to go with longer wheel studs as I am running a 1/4 inch spacer on the front because the wheels have the wrong backspace.

My 67 has the 10" front drum. Anyone know the knurl diameter by chance?

After I get the 5 wheel studs changed out in the front. I will have a swedge cutter for sale.

Only 5?
The previous owner at sometime in history tried to remove the left handed thread wheel studs and ruined the hub.
So I only have 5 original wheel studs to remove.

Thanks in advance

Lake Erie TriState Mopar Club show
Posted by: Mark's 69 - 06-06-16, 09:51 AM - Forum: Show Annoucements/Clubs - Replies (1)

We took the Coronet through a nasty downpour to attend a show near Erie PA. We were bummed that our pal Fran couldn't make it but we met up with Bruce Toth and talked to a bunch of people. Our car got a lot of attention and we took third place in the pre 71 modified category. This was our first award since the long hauler award we recieved when we drove to a New Jersey show to see our east coast friends. The car ran and drove great and our luck continued when we beat a major storm and got home less than a half hour before it took down trees on the route we we had just taken. Looking forward to seeing everyone at Carlisle!

  Chrome advice sought!!!
Posted by: Robb - 06-05-16, 04:27 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I am getting Black Betty ready for her first show in a decade or more. She sat for a long time, covered, in a doorless garage. Now that she is mine I am really addressing the chrome for the first time. Some of it polishes right up with steel wool and elbow grease, some is too far gone to bring back that easily. There is no open rust, just heavy oxidation. There are some spots that are pitted, but nothing can be done about that before the upcoming show June 25th. If you go to my gallery there are a couple pictures that might hint at what I'm talking about. If my Coronet brothers and sisters want to chime in that would be great.

  Alternator and fan belt
Posted by: Avenger - 06-03-16, 03:48 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (3)

What length of belt should I run for my 66 poly 318 for the alternator and fan.. It still has the one it had when I got it and the part number starts with 485 so it should be a 48.5" belt.. But at work here at the parts store it lists a 52" belt.. The 48.5 that is on there is almost to the end of the adjustment so I know that a 52" is gonna be too long.. Why do they list it like this and what have you guys went with in the past?
Thanks,
John
