  Fuel tank vents
Posted by: Stargazer - 07-24-16, 07:01 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (11)

Guys,

I think the car has a tank vent issue, when I remove the tank cap (after guzzling some gallons) it "hisses" at me..

i discovered that the fuel tank on my Bee, has one vent line going to the trunk ect like it should.
But the other vent has a rubber hose that leads right back into the tank?! Seems to me that has no use, or does it?
Should go outside to vent?!
The tank has two vent "pipes" coming out at the top, a fuel line "pipe", and right next to the Fuel line pipe, two other "pipes".
One of those has the rubber "vent" hose coming in, the other plugged of with a rubber cap.
So a total of 5 pipes.
I searched on the internet, but what you mostly see is 4 pipes/lines coming from these tanks.

I just crawled under the car to take a night shot to give you guys a idea.
When needed I can take a better shot during daytime.

So my question is;
should I let both vent lines "vent"?
And then cab off that other pipe (now in use with the rubber vent hose)?

  Neutral safety switch

I had some issues with my neutal safety switch while at Carlisle and I want some ideas and opinions.. My neutral safety switch won't work maybe every other time but if you put it in drive not running and put it back into park a few times real quick most of the time it will work so I figure the contacts in the column are having issues.. What's the easiest way to fix this.. Or just bypass the neutral safety system because o never start it or would try to start it in anything other than park or neutral anyhow.. I just don't wanna be stuck and have to jump the solenoid or something to get going.. Thank you for your help!

Hello boys and girls...

Some not need to know info...;-)

The question was: How many -66 Convertibles (of all series) there were in sweden

..fun to know i think!

Got the answer from our "vehicle office" today...

The answer was : 6 ....

(and a total of 43 Coronets of all models = 37 others) for the -66s.

I.e If I see another one... it's quite rare....:-)

Anders

  Home from Carlisle?

I hope everyone didn't melt walking around and made it home
safely.

I got got home a few hours ago and my new build Desoto made it there without any problems, but I had a little trouble on the way home. One of the brake calipers was getting hung up and was smoking. So I just used the brakes as little as I could and I made it home.

67 Coronet R/T Sloppy auto column shifter HELP
Posted by: Just Wheels - 07-15-16, 01:48 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (2)

So I noticed the column shifter is getting sloppier, lots of play.

Steering is fantastic (just got new Firm Feel box).

Can I rebuild the shifting mechanism? Where can I get the parts...bushing...detent....

Can I do this with the column in the car since it is just the shifter?
