Coronet sail panel chrome help needed
Posted by: RT K_line - 07-11-16, 11:28 PM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - Replies (3)

I'm in need of some help with mounting position of the sail panel chrome. I repaired some rust and now I can't find the template I made before I cut out the rust. So if someone could post a couple of pictures of the position of the sail panel chrome mounting holes with a measuring tape for reference. And also the chrome as it is mounted so I can see it in relation to the drip rail. Thanks in advance for your help.

  Hi from Bowling Green, KY
Posted by: 67_R/T - 07-08-16, 03:09 PM - Forum: New Members - Replies (5)

Finally getting started on a 67' R/T. Little about me, Army Infantry vet, strict Mopar guy, previously had a 73' Challenger and 70' Charger R/T, currently have my 67' Coronet, 00' Dakota R/T, and my dayly Dakota 4x4. I'm also one of the several people that got screwed by Kreative Customs in London, KY. My Coronet is rough but has a great story. It's been in my family through aunt by marriage. Her brother owned it and died of cancer in the early 1970's. I'm told he transported a little shine back in the day and ran from the cops. They must've loved bondo back then, cause they patched a lot with it. After his death, my uncle's wife refused to let anyone drive it and it sat until I got it about 7 years ago. I costed me a low amount of cash and my word that I'd fix it. I've shed myself of a gold digger and bought doors, fenders, trunk lid, grill, and headlight bessels, last weekend. Still need a hood. I'm getting rid of the bondo. It has a factory replacement 440 with only 63,000 miles. This thing is long enough, hi everybody

  Voltage while running curiosity
Posted by: Avenger - 07-08-16, 12:24 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (6)

Hey guys.. I'm just curious before I make the trip to carlisle.. I changed my voltage reg to an electronic one just now (a good oe look regitar) and I'm still charging at 14.5 volts at idle in neutral.. If I rev it to like 3000 it goes to 14.7.. Is this acceptable? It was the same with the old one and I just wanna make sure.. I mean I've been using it like that for 4 years and has been to Carlisle twice like that.. Same battery and all.. I think it seems ok but just want opinions lol
Thanks,
John

  Electric exhaust dumps-opinions, thoughts?
Posted by: 67RTBlue - 07-02-16, 12:49 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (3)

I know this might make some cringe at the thought of doing this on a restored-to-original car but if anyone has had them or knows anything let's hear it. I've pondered it because right now the car is open and sounds so damn good. Honestly I would love to be able to open it up here and there to be obnoxious and show off! It's a mild cam and sounds better then a stocker that somebody uncapped. I like the electric ones as it could be done at the flip of a switch. You know every time you pull it out of the garage!
If done a clean and least intrusive install is a must!

  Fiberglass (aftermarket) hood too flexible..
Posted by: Stargazer - 07-01-16, 08:55 AM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (23)

Guys,

the fiberglass hood in my 69 seems to be aftermarket.
Underneath it has no strengthening structure like an original.
So with speed it wobbles wildly, the front lip curls up, and I fear it might brake and will fly off.
I've searched on internet for strengthening parts like these.
Nothing to be found for Coronet hoods.
Has anyone here done this before?

I did find stuff for other (plastic ;-) cars about this. They strengthen by using lightweight strips of wood.
And/or foam. Easy to shape. Then coated with fiberglass sheets.

Any information would be great.
