Voltage while running curiosity - Avenger - 07-08-16

Hey guys.. I'm just curious before I make the trip to carlisle.. I changed my voltage reg to an electronic one just now (a good oe look regitar) and I'm still charging at 14.5 volts at idle in neutral.. If I rev it to like 3000 it goes to 14.7.. Is this acceptable? It was the same with the old one and I just wanna make sure.. I mean I've been using it like that for 4 years and has been to Carlisle twice like that.. Same battery and all.. I think it seems ok but just want opinions lol
Thanks,
John

Sounds about right to me. At some point the battery should reach fully charged and the voltage should taper off to more like 13.5 or so, I would think. Unless you have a "constant voltage" regulator or you are constantly pulling a lot of current with your accessories?

Nope no accessories really doing anything.. just the gauges lol or the lights if they are on..the voltage regualtor is just a replacement for the OE points type and says it works the same and does the same thing just electronically..and thats good that its the norm..cause i know most newer cars run 13.5-14 and thats why i was curious..

When I check mine with a digital multimeter it will read 13.5 to 14.5 at idle, when I Rev it up it will climb a bit. I would say your good.
