San Antonio Raceway used my car in their advertisement for this Wednesdays test and tune on their Facebook page. I just thought it was cool. I've seen the track photographer shooting my car I just never seen the pictures posted anywhere

  Speedo Gear install and questions-727
Posted by: 67RTBlue - 09-09-16, 12:02 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (5)

When I installed the speedo cable adapter I set it to what I thought would be correct according to the directions. I set it for the range of a 3:55 rear axle which is what we installed. Car is originally a 2:94 rear. Problem I had was the speedo wasn't working. I investigated and found that the gear was not touching the gear in the trans. When I rotated it to where it may go for the original 2:94 rear end it touches and works. This IS the original gear to the car. My question is when replacing the rear axle gear does this mean the replacement speedo gear is a different diameter? The adapter is oblong so to speak so that in different positions the gear is a different distance from the gear in the trans. Maybe the 2:94 speedo gear is smaller diameter and when I put the adapter in the 3:55 setting it will not touch? Forgive my mechanical ignorance I'm a body guy!

1969 dodge coronet - superbee tribute
Posted by: Killerbee85 - 09-03-16, 01:21 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

Hi i have a 1969 superbee clone and was trying to figure out a few things.

It has a fibreglass hood on it. It has hinges and 2 clips at the front. The previous owner said it is an orignal hood, i didnt think they came out with hinges and i didnt think Coronet 500's came out with fibreglass hoods.
It has a 440 6 pack in it but i would like to get the cold air system hooked up. Would like to know where to buy it. I have found plenty of places that sell the ramcharger for the hood with 2 vents but none for the 440 six pack hood.

My blue GTX almost bit the dust tonight.
Posted by: ws27 - 09-03-16, 12:37 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (10)

I was driving home from Kimballs cruise in tonight with my neighbor. Kind of leisurely driving, I tend to drive like a little old lady, almost as slow as Andy. I was going 50 to 55 and all of a sudden my neighbor yell "LOOK OUT". I'm bearing down on a car (no idea what they were driving) doing maybe 15-20. Slam on the power drum brakes and lock up the rears, go into a fish tail bad. I let up on the brake to regain control, but there's no way I'm going to stop. Can't go to the left, but the brake down lane is open! Mean while the car is regaining from this fish tail, and I hear the (7) 67 Coronet wheel covers flying around in the trunk. I end up passing what I think must be an old or drunk person on the right at 30 MPH like they were standing still. The never braked to slow, they were just tooling down the high way at a snails pace.

When I got home, I check out the trunk. Wheel covers strewn about, and I can't find my Jeep key with fob. And hour and a half later, after taking the rear seat out, I finally find the key wedged on TOP of the rear wheel housing. Luckily it didn't find it's way into the quarter window area.

I think I saw Mike waving as I flew past...

It was almost an underwear changing event. LOL

And most importantly the car didn't get hurt. Oh, and we didn't either. Notice we come second to the car.

  Sealing heater hoses to core
Posted by: 67RTBlue - 09-02-16, 11:07 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (14)

The darn heater hoses keep weeping at the core nipples on the firewall. I am using the less than ideal factory style spring clamps for appearance sake. If I wiggle the hose when it's warm it will squirt out. (Did I just write that!?) HA!
Is there anything I can do to seal them better? I'd like to keep the oem style clamps. Only does it on the core. I was wondering if after a few heat cycles they would take a set bit they've been hot as hell a few times already.
Ideas??

Seat belt bolts-Washers for the bolts and which ones get them??
Posted by: 67RTBlue - 08-31-16, 11:28 AM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - Replies (4)

Installing the seat belts and wondering where the washers go. I only have 4. From the witness marks it looks like maybe they were on the back belts only? Is this correct?
