'68 Coronet 500 Exterior Trim Black
Posted by: JimKueneman - 08-30-16, 09:51 AM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - Replies (2)

What was the original black used on the rear trim and grill? Mine is sun faded and chalky. Was it more gloss, semi-gloss, satin, organosol or ???. I am not looking for points at a car show but I would like to keep it as original as possible.

Thanks,
Jim

Power antenna modification? Anyone ever done one?
Posted by: 67RTBlue - 08-27-16, 11:13 PM - Forum: Modernize your Coronet - Replies (5)

Was thinking of this as the thought of 18" plus or antenna constantly sticking up and torquing on a fender makes me cringe. I did a quick search and seen classic offers a conversion. I gotta look at the fender and see what kinda room I've got to work with.

  Fan Switch and Other Wiring
Posted by: scottys67 - 08-26-16, 09:16 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (13)

Hey guys. I started working on my '67 Coronet today. The heater/A/C blower motor doesn't work. The fuses were missing so I put new fuses in. Nothing. Then I pulled the instrument panel out to access the blower motor switch. That lead to 2 things. The first thing is that there is no plug connected to the switch and I can't seem to find it back there behind the dash. Strange! The second thing is that it looks as if the amp gauge was disconnected and the black and red wires for it were connected together and wrapped heavily in electrical tape. Same thing with the light bulb socket that would normally illuminate the amp meter and the space where a clock would normally be. Any ideas on where the connector for the switch may be? Also why would the amp gauge be bypassed? If the gauge is inop, would that affect the charging system at all, thus prompting the PO to simply bypass it? Thanks much for any insight. Also looking for a wiring schematic.9022]9023]

67 Coronet grey/silver strips top and bottom of grill
Posted by: RT K_line - 08-19-16, 04:05 PM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - Replies (9)

I pulled out the original grill from my R/T from storage. I remembered seeing that the grill was black with silver or grey stripes horizontally on each edge of the top and bottom on the vertical bars. The one mounted on the car is all silver color. I've seen others that were either black, and some were silver. Anyone know which is correct. I'll post a picture after work, I repainted the black part but it definitely has a strip on the top and bottom. Thanks for your help.
