67 Coronet instrument cluster - turn signal and high beam and oil lenses!
Posted by: TekHousE - 06-29-16, 07:50 PM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - Replies (5)

OK..Wow!

I knew that I would break something doing this. I changed my old original bezel for a new one..It's one of my least favorite jobs messing about with the instrument cluster on these cars. I have hands that are not built for tight spaces in our dashboards..

Anyway, managed to crack the very tiny green lens for the right turn signal. I fixed it easily enough and you cannot see it has been fixed but I know it is there and want to replace them all.

Which led me to the internet and a big lot of nothing! I cannot even find a picture of them for my car. Does anyone have the inside track on these?

For the record what a monumentally stupid design, I am not sure if they had some kind of 'detent' intended by the small notches, etc. (looks to me that this was done to tell right set from left set of lenses). But they drop out easily an break even more easily!

Sad

I put my Coronet in the Greenwood Auto show in Seattle last Saturday. By random chance I ended up parking next to a merchandise tent that was staffed by gals from the beauty salon right behind my car. Va-va-voom!!! Banging Gears

  '67 Center grille bolts-correct style?
Posted by: 67RTBlue - 06-29-16, 12:52 PM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - No Replies

Im talking about the bolts or screws that hold just the center mesh portion to the upper and lower rad support. I have small washer 3/8" bolts that were originally across the top but don't know what style held the bottom to the lower grille supports. I'm thinking they would have been the same bolts or maybe a phillips screw. Anyone with original cars care to look or send some pics? I'd like to the proper ones in if I can. And yes I know it could depend on what the guy on the line grabbed that day too!
Again I'm confindent the small washer 3/8" bolts are correct for our car across the top but the bottom ones are the ones I'm wondering about.

  69 R/T headlight bezel restore
Posted by: moparmike80911 - 06-29-16, 11:15 AM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - Replies (6)

Greetings,

Has anyone restored their 69 R/T headlight bezels? If so, where did you get the
light Argent grey paint? I called Roger Gibson and they don't have a match for
that finish.

Thanks in advance,

  Steering Column Length
Posted by: Piper - 06-23-16, 10:15 AM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (19)

On my 68 Charger I took out the steering column and it was collapsed, the nylon shear pins came out (which set the length of the shaft).

I need to figure out how to get this thing to its original length, any ideas on the length it needs to be or does anyone have one that isn't collapsed?

  Does this look right?

Dear People Who Know These Things,

This close? I know I am missing the nut to keep the stand and the tire in place. But is this how it goes? Thank you for any guidance.

  Trunk liner

Haven't had a lot of time to work on the ole 'Net. But got to the trunk liner finally. Looks good. Only problem is now my spare tire looks terrible in there. May be upgrade time :-)
