I took the old manifold off today and started cleaning up all the gasket materials. 
I had to unbolt the master cylinder to give room to get it out. Big sucker for a small block 340.

Manifold install went great. I decided to try the no gasket route since all surfaces look nice and straight.  I used a cosmetic pipe gasket at TTI pipe. 
No leaks sounds great. Test drove a couple hours now just retourque it.

That made lugging it back to parking lot well worth it..

I hope the paint didn't smell too bad burning off, he had just finished spraying them when I walked up.

I was planning a smoke show when I drove it around but it didn't smell too bad. it is discolored some now which is expected and is good because it will match other side someday
