I decided to pick a spot and just see how many layers of paint are there. Some blobbed on primer or it could be pigeon crap over bubbled up blue they painted in a sand storm and two different primer jobs over the beautiful factory bronze metallic .
Hey at least all that preserved the precious metal underneath, I'm way happy with how solid this Dart is.
Doesn't it just chap your ass when the original paint is nicer than the crap somebody put on top of it?
I finished stripping the hood down to original paint and too far gone to just leave patina so I primed and it is super smooth now. I don't need to go to the gym now my arms are dead:p
Pick a fender next and do the same.
A friend was at Turlock swap meet last week and scored a super straight GTS hood for Junior. I was just going flat hood but I think this one will look cool on there and it really has a 340 under the hood just like the callout emblems say
Usually these have GTS emblems on it but there are no holes drilled so that will make it easy swap for me.
Nice hood. I always wanted a 68 GTS, but with the big motor.

They went straight real well, just don't turn fast haha

That's why most people prefer the 340.
Lauri and I put the new hood on last night, it is allot easier to sand on when in place and to make sure it fits right.
