Loos like a fun car Andy!
65rbdodge Wrote:what are your plans if the motor does not run? as you probably know a 273 can be pricey to rebuild. I would recommend a roller 318 (LA if you want to keep it stock looking) and put the 273 stuff on it. it should still get good mileage, maybe add a a500 or 518 trans too. that would make an awesome daily driver!

I checked the #s on block wondering why it had X heads, and it has a `69 340.

If it does not run right I will pull it and rebuild it and if its junk I like your plan Smile

Last pic is after new master cylinder.

Still waiting on fuel tank to run engine but oil psi is good and compression is great
340? Cool.

Looks like it had it's original master too.

The 340 needs to stay!
Yes I save it and the original wheel cylinders for later, but was not able to save the original fluid Rofl
It's got a 340 in it - now i'm really jealous!
...I can see it's an A/C car too. I think you have something special there Andy.
340! cool
I got the tank in from Classic Industries, I went with the better ni-terne steel and everything fit well. Flushed line going to the front, new pump and rebuilt the non stock 625 Carter. Too small?

Oiled the cylinders and put new plugs and wires. It fired pretty much right away and sounds solid. It wont idle down under a 1000 rpm well for some reason but I have no more time now to deal with it. With hearing the engine run I think somebody swapped out cams as it has allot of lope. I would rather it just be stock since my main idea here is to have a daily driver, so we might have to fix that later.

And the spider gears are shot in the tiny 7 1/4 rearend but I have spares for now, I see a 8 3/4 swap in futureWink
Just put a stock stick shift cam in it Andy. It will rock and roll!
You're on your way.

625 doesn't seem too small. it's not a big engine.
