I met a guy at a show who had a 1965 Dodge Dart 4-door with the smaller v6. We talked for a while and he was telling me that he had been looking for a 1965 Coronet like mine but couldn't find one. During his looking around he bought the 225 sticker and told me he'd send it to me; well, today was the day it showed up! Check it out. Pretty cool. Even cooler, he sent me the cards below too. He cleaned out a barber shop in the basement of a house in CT years back and found a bunch of these cards. They have the barber shop name printed on the back. A nice advertising mechanism back in the day to the men getting haircuts. Even though my car is in storage for the winter, this makes me very happy! Can't wait to put that sticker on in the spring. I have an advertisement for the '65 Coronet, think I'll get it mounted and put these cards around it. That might look nice.
OK, new to the page, and Im stumped about a car I pulled from a pole barn a couple weeks ago. I know its not the most sought after car but it is still a B-body. The car I pulled from the pole barn is a 1974 coronet custom 9 passenger wagon. It is loaded with alot of options, like-cruise-AC-power windows-power locks-AM FM radio, and so on, the one that really has me smiling is the 400 HP motor. Here is the vin--WH46P4A********. 5th digit P is for the 400 4 brl HP motor. This car even has factory dual exhaust. What Im asking is there anybody out there that can help me out finding out how many were built with the P option in the build? I know 4950 were built, but cant find any other break down. Thanks Tom
That sad day for us cold weather climate folks has come for me. The '65 is asleep for a few months. But, we had to move my friends 1914 Model T to get the 'Net in, so, we had to go for a ride. Not too shabby.
I was doing a little engine archeology today, and closely examined my engine ID pad. I hadn't done this in years, beyond confirming that it was the "born-with" engine back when I first bought the car in '82.
Below is the pad on my engine. I know the "C440" (1967 440 CID), the "2 22" (February, 22nd. 1967 engine assembly date), and "HP" (High Performance, or "Magnum" engine) markings. But, does anyone know the significance of the sideways "B" above the "0" in "C440"? Inspector's mark? Shift ID? Component deviation? Also, I noticed for the first time that the two 4's in "440" are of different font. Just interesting. Unless the sideways "B" pertains to a machining deviation, it looks like my engine made it through assembly without any undersized components.
Also, I noticed for the first time that the machined pad on the RH cylinder head was marked "HP". Has anyone else seen this on their '915 heads? Maybe they're all that way; I never noticed.
For those of you who search on Ebay often for nos, new reproduction and used parts, you probably know about this Ebay seller Mega Parts USA 1 using the Ebay ID dodgeboy, but if not, this seller has LOTS of very nice reproduction Mopar parts for sale, so I thought I'd post the Ebay link to their Ebay auction pages as well as post just a few of the many interesting parts they sell.
Please know that I have absolutely NO affiliation with anyone at this company, or the company itself, just letting fellow DCR members know about a company that sells lots of nice parts for our Mopar muscle cars. They also have over 50K Ebay auction sales and have an excellent Ebay feedback rating from their customers which is very impressive indeed.
