Thanks,

  Transmission fluid dipstick?
Posted by: OldSkool - 09-12-15, 06:41 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

My ring pull on my transmission fluid dipstick has busted off and disappeared. I searched for a new old dipstick and shockingly (I'm not really shocked) there don't appear to any. My question is will a universal one work? Any advice? I have been googling around and the universal ones all seem to be for GM cars or say "will require modification for your vehicle." Which doesn't give me a warm fuzzy. Any direction appreciated.

The wife thinks I am a lunatic but I know y'all will understand. According to my build sheet, today is my car's 50th birthday. Please hoist a favorite beverage to her when it's appropriate in your time zone. Thank you! :-)

Thought I should take a moment and introducemyself. Thanks for the add. I found y'all at Carlisle and I'm happy to be a member now. I am currently restoring a 67 coronet light weight, wo23 car. Sold new out of Lenox Dodge. In my research, I discovered that the car was a Barnett brothers car, the automatic trans one, Reid Whisnants NHRA national record holder car, traded to Glen Warfel, and finally smoking Joe. Jim Kramer had the car since the early 80s, sold it to my dad in the 90s sold back to Jim and then to me. Very lucky and very proud to have it now. Can't be certain, but at 208 miles it's got to be one of the lowest mileage ones. If you know/remember the car, have a story or photo, please contact me.

Admin, how do I post a picture?
