how do you remove pulley from pump? Do I need a puller or does it screw off?

Rear qtr window VERTICAL chrome trim seals..and Something I'm calling channel rubber..
Posted by: TekHousE - 09-01-15, 12:05 PM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - Replies (8)

OK..

I can find the seals for the vertical chrome trim on my rear windows..Metro has them as do other places. But! The real problem is the channel rubber. I don't know what else to call it. The chrome trim clamps onto the edge of the glass..Inside that chrome trim is a rubber channel of some type. Mine is as hard as rock and I have had that trim piece pries itself off when winding my rear windows down. AT first I thought it was a matter of trying to bend the trim peice metal inwards a little so it fit tighter. But when I took a look I realized that would be a bad idea and anyway, my pieces are in really good condition.

Someone told me that the forward facing rubber seals slide into the trim and he thought that the BACKSIDE of the seal had that channel molded into it. That can't be how it works. I looked and it seems the front side and backside of the trim piece are totally separated by a wall of metal.

Has anyone had this problem? And apart from whacking some silicon into that channel..What is the correct fix?

Small annoying issue with my Floor shifter - 727 Trans
Posted by: TekHousE - 09-01-15, 09:57 AM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (6)

HI,

This is a minor issue really..But I want everything to work like it should on my car.

My floor console does not 'click' positively into first gear. It slides down to the 1st position on the gear indicator strip, but the shifter will spring up to almost 2nd gear if I let it go.

Normally I start a burnout in 1st, very briefly and then shift into 2nd manually..then 3rd.. SO I would never really leave it in locked into first position. My hand is always on the shifter holding it back into first.

But, that is not normal operation right? Shouldn't it go click into first, with some type of detent and then ratchet up through 2nd and into drive?

Here's a VERY rare 0 of none 1967 Coronet 500 that was never optioned this way by Chrysler and The Dodge Boys! Shoot, maybe they DID offer an am/fm radio with the CB option and a Pistol Grip shifter in 1967 and I've missed those options for all of these years?

P.S. At least this guy didn't boast that this car had a "frame off" restoration!
