Greetings - Is there an electronic ignition system available that is absolutely undetectable visually? My R/T is absolutely original, and I don't want anything to mar that appearance. However, I'd like to get a little more reliability and performance from electronic ignition. I absolutely don't want the external Mopar control module, so the typical route is out for me.
I thought I remembered a system out there which was undetectable without removing the distributor cap. I don't want any extra wires coming out of the distributor, or any other externally mounted components. If there isn't anything like this available, I'll just keep my breaker points. I kind of like the ritual of setting dwell and timing anyway...
Hello - Just joined and wanted to say "Hi!". Mine is a '67 R/T that I've owned since '82; I'm the second owner. I'm hoping to gain some knowledge here, and share what little I know.
Has any one ran an in tank fuel pump in their cars to their carbys.
the issue I have is that I cannot have the holley electric fuel pump gravity fed as the fuel tank pick up is on top of the tank.
so I was wondering what have people done with this situation.
cheers
I know this has been done before. I am not claiming to have invented this technique. I have used it for ages..with people. But on a sunset shoot this past weekend I used it on my car and my friends car.
Basically set your camera up focus wise using AV setting, as if you are shooting the car normally. (whatever angle you choose is ok). But have your camera attached to a tripod (or monopod) that is already extended out high enough to be around waist high if the tripod was on the ground.
Now, grab the tripod and extend your arms up so you are holding the tripod like a flag pole at about chest/neck high. On my tripod I can angle the camera down as well, that is good to do if you can, or, if you are willing to try it, just tilt the tripod and camera downwards towards the car at an angle. This is so you shoot the car roof etc.
Have a look at what this technique resulted in..

I thought this might help..This is a photo of me taking the photos above.

Started on the trunk project today. Did not get nearly as far as I wanted as the darn kids insisted on going apple picking of all things today! ;-)
Anyway, I finally pulled the old trunk mat and lo and behold it is a gray/blue spatter. First pic is the before on overall trunk. Second, while doesn't look like much, was after an hour of me just using a dustpan brush to take off all the surface stuff (btw, nowhere I could push through the rust). The third is for those of you who don't get an apple picking season.
Next is on to the wire brush and then the etching primer.
