slant 6 to overdrive trans adapter
Posted by: RT K_line - 11-28-15, 09:54 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (7)

Hi, i wasjust wondering if anyone knows of an overdrive automatic transmission that will bolt to the /6 engine or if someone makes an adapter for a late model upgrade? Doesn't necessarily have to be a mopar trans. Looking for overdrive if possible. Thank in advance for any information.

Does anyone know of an electronic ignition that doesn't look like one?
Posted by: Warhawkfight34 - 11-20-15, 09:38 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (12)

I am looking to change to electronic ignition but I don't want to even notice it under the hood!
I don't want MSG looking parts. I want it to look exactly like what I have now but not points.
Can anyone help me or give me a link to what I am looking for?

Gotta give kudos to Wayne and the rest of the folks at Brewers Performance. I ran into some issues with a clutch setup I got from them, and after a few emails to check some things, it was determined to possibly be a defective pressure plate. I asked if it could be swapped out, and he agreed to not only swap out the pressure plate, but asked for the clutch as well.

It sounds like a typical product exchange until you take into account I purchased this setup almost 18 months ago. They could have easily said "sorry to hear that, the warranty period has passed on these items". Instead it just was "pack them up, we'll send a pre-paid shipping label and once we get them we'll ship out new ones".

I got a notice today that they had shipped out the replacement. I checked when my box got there, and total time from arrival at their shop to shipping new one? Less than 2 hours. You can't get some vendor's on the phone if you redial for 2hrs straight.

So if you looking to do some 4 speed stuff, might want to give them a call.

That time of year again! WINTER UGH! Whats everyone doing to their cars over the winter?
Posted by: Warhawkfight34 - 11-19-15, 09:18 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (15)

Well here in the Northeast winter is on our doorsteps. On Sunday I put the old girl in her nice heated warehouse where she will spend some time with her cousins, Hemi Dart, Six pack charger and Roadrunner.
This will now let me begin the work of putting new lower control arms in and ripping out the engine for a
rebuild that will get her to hopefully 600HP or as close to that as possible. I also need to rebuild the window
regulators that the one hack shop I brought her too (mistake) messed up bad. Anyways it will be a LONG and
productive winter. Hope everyone's projects go smoothly! (usually never happens like that but one can only hope). Updates with pics will be posted as I get them.

  crate motor or rebuild original?
Posted by: R/T XTC - 11-16-15, 11:01 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (37)

The time has come for some new power, so should I rebuild a great running reliable 318 or buy a remanufactured crate motor? The car has a 1972 318 2bbl engine, can we get decent power out of this engine or do we turn it in as a core on a remanufactured unit. The transmission gave up reverse so it is time to pull the 904 out and probably ditch it for a 727 as long as were doing that lets do the engine as well although it runs fine Banging Gears. That is where you people come in handy what should I do? P.S. this is not for my R/T but another car

  1966 Coronet 440 some TLC
Posted by: mrtillie - 11-15-15, 11:50 AM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - Replies (9)

Its been a long time since i last posted anything on one of my favorite sites. Sold my 1968 RT this summer and bought a 1969 SuperBee but thats another story. I thought it was time to give the old 66 some TLC so i pulled the engine and tranny replaced the timing chain and did a general cleanup of the engine bay. This led to as most of you will know to more issues and repairs. I will post a few pics for you as to how its looking now.
