Upper arm shifter linkage bushing source
Posted by: DodgeT - 01-24-16, 02:47 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - No Replies

Anyone know where to get these? Mine are quite worn after almost 50 years. Started to affect how easily I change gears! The closest I've found are 4x4 shifter bushings.

Hello Everybody!

I live in good old Sweden..

After 27 years with Mustangs I bought me a Coronet 500 Convertible -66

(Still have a Hudson 112 Touring Sedan -38 and one Land Rover 109 Series II -61)

It was time to turn the page .. to meet new people, new web forums and so on.

Nice..[Image: smile.gif]

  1970 Coronet Convertible 440 R/T
Posted by: mozz at rpm - 01-23-16, 06:16 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

The car featured here is a 1970 Coronet Convertible 440 R/T. This car is believed to be one of five show cars with consecutive vin numbers that were destined for Canada. The cars were used for promotional purposes and were virtually identical. This particular car has its original engine and factory broadcast sheet and is part of a collection here in the UK.

Fuel tank to fuel line rubber hose picture
Posted by: 67RTBlue - 01-23-16, 12:18 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (12)

I would like to see this on a car with the proper layout. Put in the gas tank and filler/vent yesterday. Where the main line stops and where the nipple is in the tank looks weird. I might have to tweak the main line but still seems too far away for the short ground strap and rubber hose that was in the Year One kit I bought. A picture of a stock layout would be great!

  Classic Industries prices
Posted by: mike1968rt - 01-20-16, 03:48 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

Flipping through the Classic Industries catalog I noticed a couple of interesting things. First they sell 68 Charger headlight switches for 24.99. This seems like a fantastic price to me. This switch could be used on any 68 thru 70 Dodge or Plymouth, with the removal of the vacuum switch. Seems like an excellent price for a switch that will give you factory fresh looking chrome finish on the rocker. Second, just an observation. They sell 3 pc. (gauge, radio, above glove box) instrument panels for 394.99. They sell 5 pc (including the 2 lower AC block off pcs.) for 494.99. A difference of 100.00 dollars. They sell the 2 AC pcs alone for 29.99. If you buy the 3 pc set and the 2 pc set separately, its 424.98 - or 70.01 less then buying the 5 pc set! Any comments, or am I missing something obvious?

I took my 67R/T to the track this weekend to see what it would run. I removed a 2 inch spacer to see if it made a difference. I wanted to take it out one last time before I started to remove the rest of the chrome trim and bumpers so I can finish the body work. I hope to have it ready for paint by spring break. I was surprised at the improvement. last November it went 12.96 at 108mph with the spacer. without the spacer it ran a best time of 12.51 at 108mph with a 1.90 60ft. That's the best 60ft time it has run with the 3.55 gear and 26 inch tall tire. Thinking of going to 3.91 or 4.10 with a taller tire after paint is done.

  Coronet new job
Posted by: sgp0511 - 01-16-16, 07:30 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

Haven't been on here in a while. I have a 65 coronet 440 4door sedan with 318 and auto tranny. Old coronet hasn't gotten much use lately, but still runs great. So I have a 18' fiberglass 1967 boat. The truck I tow it with has been totaled, so I'm daily driving a 88 firebird. I am out a tow vehicle now, and am looking to give the Ol coronet purpose again. So I'm thinking of using her as my tow vehixle. The tranny was rebuilt a few years ago and I already am running a tranny cooler. I'm thinking of either adding a helper leaf in the back or air shocks to help with the weight. Does anybody know the facoory tow rating on this car? The boat and trailer weigh no more than 1500lb I would say. I don't think that would be a problem, just the Tongue weight, it's probably 2-300 lbs. So I'm looking to getting a class 2 hitch for it. I can probably take it somewhere to get one custom made, but would rather get a bolt on factory hitch. Thing is I can't find one. Do they make factory hitches for these? Any thoughts about making this a tow vehicle?

  Pertronix ignition on a poly
Posted by: Avenger - 01-15-16, 04:46 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (18)

Hello guys. I am curious on what model pertronix unit to get for my 1966 318 poly with a prestolite dual points distributor.. There are different options for them and I wanna make sure I get the right one because I want electronic ignition without a bunch of extra stuff.
Thanks,
John
