slant 6 to overdrive trans adapter - RT K_line - 11-28-15
Hi, i wasjust wondering if anyone knows of an overdrive automatic transmission that will bolt to the /6 engine or if someone makes an adapter for a late model upgrade? Doesn't necessarily have to be a mopar trans. Looking for overdrive if possible. Thank in advance for any information.

I don't know of an adapter made for a slant. A gear vendors OD unit might be the only option? It bolts to the tail shaft of the trans.

Might want to give Wilcap a call. According to their website, they have an adapter for the Flathead 6 to bolt up to a GM trans (TH350-700R4), but the downloads page also lists it as available for a slant 6

Why stay with the auto? Convert it to a 4 spd overdrive. They were available in a bunch of light duty applications.

Thanks Andy, just thinking of another project for down the road. I have an 87 Ramcharger and a low milage /6 and was thinking of putting them together if I could get an overdrive to work. I like the Ramcharger but the 318 has got to go. 9 to 11 mpgs doesn't work for me as I drive 50+ miles a day round trip.
