Well this phase of Daughter's Coronet did not pan out........ Broken!
Posted by: markz - 10-16-15, 11:50 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

To make a long story short, took my daughter's car to the track first time this year. Planned on taking it out in April, but found the cam was wiped. Put a hydraulic roller in it and been dealing with it since. Engine is noisey and not sure where the noise is coming from.

Motor is destined for the GTX and planning on going back to stock with the Coronet. So I figured put some runs on it and if it breaks it breaks. Not sure what I'm gonna do to the motor before it goes into the GTX at this point.

Before my daughter got to the track I put 2 runs on it. First run went 13.300 at 101.75 mph. I was pleased with it (4000 lb street car with AC).

Second run slows to 14.097 at 95 mph. Car broke, but I don't think its the motor. I am leaning towards a tranny failure.

Unstinkinbelievable! The tranny was new with the motor last year and both have about 300 street miles and 30 runs.

I guess this phase was cursed and time to cut my losses. Car is now going back to stock a little sooner than I expected.

Can anyone help me ID what these rims are called ?
Posted by: 4404spd - 10-16-15, 01:20 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (4)

I have had these rims for over 25 years . They are light as hec, but I have never seen another set like them.

I never used them because they are a Uni Lug bolt style.

Any ideas ? I have searched Google many times and even the ET site with no luck .

Thanks

A small thing but it helps clean up the bay a bit.

Next is to pick out one of the 225 decals but I can't decide. Thoughts?

uummmm, I have issues! I couldn't resist this buy. When I was 12 years old my best friends dad had a 1976 Dodge Good Time van and I thought it was the coolest thing and always wanted one. Yes Honcho, that was in Wichita Falls, TX. LOL So I through out a offer and scored it! Got to go to Levitton, PA to pick it up Oct. 30.

69/69 Bulge hoods- was there a change in 68?
Posted by: 69Coronetrt - 10-11-15, 05:41 PM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - No Replies

Was there a change in the design of the underside of the 68 Super Bee and R/T bulge hoods during the production year?

Specifically, did the late '68 bulge hood come equipped with the upcoming 69 under hood bracing for the air grabber or was the 68 hood the same the entire year?

IF there was a change, would anyone happen to know about when the change took place?

  What were these used for?

Hi fellow Coronet owners. I am slowly getting aquainted with the ´67 Coronet I recently bought from PA. One secret I cannot figure out is that she had two red lights on the radiator wall facing the grill. Can you tell me why lights like these were used in the U.S. Was this a police vehicle? A fireman´s vehicle? A security vehicle of some sorts? Besides a photo of the lights I have also enclosed a photo of an old switch I found below the dashboard. It has no connections with the red lights. The lights and the switch are not a recent addition. Google search for the part # on the switch as yielded no results.

Thanks for replying

Hello everyone from Alaska! Been up here for a couple of decades, decided it was time to bring my baby home.
She's a '67 coronet 500 convertible. Wife and I are definitely going to enjoy her!
