  windshield advice
Posted by: Robb - 04-05-17, 10:39 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

My '58 came to me a few years back with a rock chip in the front windshield. It is a small star shape, less in diameter than a nickel. It has a small horizontal crack that extends less than an inch in both directions. I cannot imagine trying to replace that original piece.
Is there anything to gain by having someone attempt a repair, or should I be trying to stabilize the area somehow to prevent it worsening?

Ok this is a non Coronet related question,I have a 2008 Chrysler Aspen with a coolant leak, it apears to be leaking out of the side of the power steering cooler. I know that ps pluid runs thru there but does coolant also run thru the same cooler?

318 w 3 speed on the colum still in car
Posted by: BooBoo - 04-02-17, 04:20 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

I got a 67 coronet 440 w / 318 and a 3 spd on the colum w / bellhousing and I assume clutch and pressure plate . engine turns but wont start .gas tank rusted out w/ lite surface rust on k-member and sub-frame . body has lite surface rust but no holes . has a slight dent in very rear of quarter panel . I put some bondo in it and it don't look to bad . other then that there are no dents . cracked windshield , other glass is good . no interior , I took a holesaw and started cutting holes in the inner door panals to lighten the car up , I was going to build a gasser out of it or maybe a ratrod . I also cut the front floor board out cause I was going to build an aluminum interior . the simulated air ducts are now functional on one side . rusted rear bumper and no front bumper . grill is in bad shape . the body actually looks pretty good exept for the lite surface rust and a ton of mold growing on it has 4 tires on it that wont hold air . don't ask for pics cause for some reason I cant send them here from my computer . I could probley send pics to your email . if you want it send me your best offer and get with a shipping company . I,m in Columbus Georgia . if I cant sell it here I,ll be putting it on ebay or keeping it . I still got dreams of having a gasser . thanks . booboo

  727 rebuild
Posted by: Tom66-500 - 03-31-17, 11:12 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (13)

I've always worked on all my own cars with great success but have never worked on tranny's. I need to rebuild my 727 in my 66 Coronet due to slippage in drive. My question is, how difficult a task this is? I've heard so many good mechanics say they won't touch an automatic transmission and that's always deterred me. I'm very mechanically inclined and I believe I can do it. Any recommendations or tips with it being my first rebuild?

How do you go about replacing the coronet fender emblem on a 65 coronet with the fender on the car? I really don't want to take fender off if at all possible. Thanks, Dan
