  1968 Dodge Coronet Convertible - $30000 (Kamloops)
Posted by: 31ctg - 04-16-17, 09:29 PM - Forum: WIW eBay Craiglist Kijiji - Replies (3)

Nice looking car. The 68 backend is cool, but I think I like my blacked out 69. Big change in the look of the taillights between 68 and 69.

  Brake drums from Classic industries
Posted by: Hibbing_Coronet_500 - 04-12-17, 06:41 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (4)

Got my new front drums from classic industries. ( Made in China )
They have a great finish on them and the machine work is nice.

Except they are obviously out of balance. As you spin the drum you can see ovality in the casting that causes the drum to stop in the same spot every time you spin the drum.
I measured the "cast iron ovality run out" to a exact spot on the drum with a dial indicator at .050.
That spot always spins back to 6 oclock position.

Would I look like a fool if I asked a tire shop if they could balance my drums?
If not?
Ill use sticky square wheel weights at 180 from the heavy spot until the prepencity to turn back to the 6 oclock has ended.

Forgive my misspellings ( Big words today )

Thanks

  Fan shroud.

Has anyone ever run their car without the fan shroud? How much of a cooling problem would it be?
With a more efficient radiator than the stock one would it be a problem without the shroud?

  Fuel filler neck install
Posted by: Mark's 69 - 04-08-17, 09:57 AM - Forum: DIY Tech Forum - Replies (8)

After trying unsuccessfully to get the filler neck started in the new tank with new seal I looked at the bolt holes in the bumper and the light bulb light up in my head.
I grabbed a piece of angle iron and a nut and bolt for leverage and it pushed in with little effort! I hope this idea helps other members out there.
