  Axle end play
Posted by: Coronet67500 - 03-16-25, 12:47 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (12)

Hello, I installed the axles yesterday with new bearings/seals etc. on the 8 3/4 742 differential and the drivers side has about 1/8" end play in it. Adjusting the end play on the passengers side collar to specs makes no difference to the drivers side whether the drivers side axle is pushed in or pulled out the end play on the passenger side stays the same as adjusted. I did not check the drivers side end play before pulling it out but this doesn't seem right. Especially when I can push in the drivers side axle hard and hear it clunk while the car is in the air. I never heard that while driving the car. Did the new bearings not get pressed in all the way down? Is this normal?
Thank you

Hello I am looking to get a rebuild axle kit for my 1967 8 3/4" being 1 of my axles is leaking.
Looking for bearings, prefer Timken along with quality seals, the foam gaskets etc... everything needed for both the axles to pull and have the new bearings pressed on etc.. anyone here know of a Timken rebuild kit including all the stuff mentioned/needed? Thank you!

Hello everyone! I am new here and just got a 1968 Coronet convertible.
Need some help please. I am going to be putting Cragar 61C Series S/S Super Sport on my 1968 Dodge Coronet. 15x7 on the front and 15x8 on the rear. My question is backspacing - 4.25 or 4.75 & offset - -6.00 or +6.00? Don not really have any idea on backspacing & offset.
Wheels I am thinking about front 225/ 60 R15    rear  245/ 60  R15.
Any help would be great!
Thank you

  5.7 hemi build
Posted by: 65rbdodge - 11-23-24, 09:27 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (28)

A few months ago I bought this 2012 5.7, it was in a ram truck and had a miss on number 1 cylinder. Got it for $340. I had a pretty good idea it was going to be a wiped cam.

After tearing it down I wasn't surprised at what I found

I clean it a few times and pressure washed the block. And gave it a coat of motor coater race hemi orange

Picked the wagon up last weekend. 1500km round trip in a day.
It’s running a warm 440 with a 727 TF and a 489 rear end.

Many Thanks

  Fall Carlisle
Posted by: 67440Dodge - 10-02-24, 08:33 PM - Forum: Picture Taking Place - Replies (6)

While I didn't make it to Mopars this year, I did hit Fall Carlisle.  I always found best deals on Mopar stuff there, I got my 4speed there, steering box, PS pump, all for half what would cost at Mopar show.  This year was a dud,  many spots were empty and many didn't even uncover because of the on/off rain, and some were packing it in on at about 1pm on first day. Only Coronet parts I saw were a set of taillights for a 68.

I did find Andy a new helmet for when he takes Max out to the track

I saw a bare BB six pack manifold for a 69, guy wanted $900 for it..  and then one for a 340...   ouch...

Anyone ever hear of AussieSpeed?

Bunch early Barracuda's.. didn't think I'd see a convertible worse than Kevin's til this one..

Some cool old drag cars..  I loved the Fairlane.. (yes Andy, I admit it...it's a cool car).  The price on it made it the bargain of the show..

This reminded me of Roadkill's Stubby Bob truck
