Took Blue out for it's final ride before sleeping for winter. (By time I put snow blower in garage, I got almost zero room to work underneath). Saw a VP Fuels Gas station along way, so figured see if could get some race gas to fill tank with (forgetting ethanol free gas is banned here unless at track and put in jugs). Highest octane available, 91. They become car washes and overpriced convenience stores..
I can relate to first one. Heard a snap when doing Macpherson stuts on a VW ( you did them on car so didn't have to re-align), and it broke. Next thing know the other guy in the shop is trying to wake me up. Just another concussion..
This is about the 4th time I've tried doing this, for my 50th birthday (today actually) I've decided to put my first car back together as a present to myself (and really a life goal).
The objective is to keep it like it was in high school (with better paint) and some upgrades. Thanks to Mike I have a motor coming back from the machine shop here in a couple of days. I'll document progress here as I go. To begin here is what I am working with today, shes back there in the corner.
I purchased my 65 440 4 dr sed in Philidelphia in 2017 and trailered it home to Michigan. The fuel tank sprung a leak on the trailer as I neared my house so, I lucked out not driving it home! I went through the entire car, rebuilding the 318, 727, front and rear suspensions. Pulled all 4 doors apart, cleaning and lubing the regulators, prepping and painting all the jambs, cutting out new plastic liners, and rebuilding the front hinges.
I installed new carpet, scrubbed the door panels and had the fabric replaced on the seats. Built a mini console to hold a new FM/CD player, cup holders, a digital volt meter, and a box of tissues.
The car had new brakes, tires, battery, and ball joints when I bought it so that was covered. Then I replaced all the rubber body seals and bumpers. I had the speedometer rebuilt as well. I added a oil pressure gauge in the clock area on the dash too.
Since I started driving it (no winter/salt) It has been a lot of fun. I get "thumbs up" everywhere I go and I have driven it over 14,000 miles so far.

Would a set of 70 up B Body LCAs work on a 67 Coronet, the sway bar mount location would be different so a later sway bar would be needed....I think it should just want a gut check..
