  Happy New Year Everyone
Posted by: 50Coronet - 01-05-15, 04:01 PM - Forum: The Early Years - Replies (2)

I hope everyone enjoyed the Holidays and is ready for a great New Year. I wasn't on here that much last year but hopefully some good things will get going this year and I'll post more. I have some photos from last year's Cruise In and Car Show season that some of you may enjoy and hopefully some questions that you will be able to help me with this year.

Was wondering if anybody might know the specs of this cam, it was in a 1972 340. I found specs for Pontiac and chevy, but couldn't find any for the small block Chrysler! I am thinking it is along the lines of a factory 340 cam, if it isn't the original? But anyway was trying to find lift, duration, and rpm range, at least? The engine has been rebuilt, at least, once!

Will a '66 coronet hard top vent window assembly fit a '66 coronet convertible? And will '67 vent window assemblies fit a '66? If anyone has a really nice set for sale PM me please. Time has come to start massing the parts for the Battle of the Bulge.

  Car model choices
Posted by: mike1968rt - 01-03-15, 12:19 AM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

I'm wondering if anybody knows the answer to this question. I do not. Back in the day there were many different body styles for almost every model. I think the most I have counted is 7 -2door sedan, 2 door hardtop, 4 door sedan, 4 door hardtop, sedan station wagon, hardtop station wagon, and convertible. Today you don't even get a 2 door Charger - the only style available in the 60's and 70's. Any ideas?

A dream of ours is to have a a red white and blue `67 4-speed R/Ts this one works Smile

Way back I bought Lauri a blue one but I didn't know much about cars and it had some very unsafe body repairs done so we sold it to a race car guy for a huge loss.

  Manifold heat
Posted by: 70rtvert - 12-31-14, 08:12 AM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (11)

I'm getting tired of painting the 440 valve covers every year because of the heat from the exhaust manifold peeling off the paint
I'm using high temp. paint but they still peel
This year I have them at a pro. paint shop
Does anyone know of a product that I could put between the cover and manifold that can easily be removed at a car show?
Thanks

  Exhaust drone
Posted by: Jpr777 - 12-31-14, 07:45 AM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (11)

hi there
cruising on the highway around 60mph my exhaust gets this terrible drone to it which I can't stand.
if I back it off a couple of hundread revs it goes away.
its a 383 with stock headers down to a 2 1/2" system with only two mufflers, one each side.
someone told me to install a joiner between the two pipes, will this from anyone's experience eliminate the issue, or any other ideas.
cheers.

Well, no one seems to reproduce a workable stereo upgrade for the '66 (red headed bastard child) Coronets. I will not butcher the dash; what are other options for a workable in-dash modern unit? I saw some where on the net a company that installs electronic guts in old stereos but now I can't find them.

Any suggestions?
