  Turn indicator not working
Posted by: tkarman - 12-25-14, 02:46 AM - Forum: The Swan Song Years 1971-1976 - Replies (23)

Hi everyone! I'm new here and new to the Dodge Coronet. I just picked up a 72 with a rebuilt 318 in really good condition except for a few electrical problems. The worst of which is that the indicators will not work. The emergency flashers work fine and I can hear the relay clicking. I pulled off the steering wheel to take a look at the indicator switch and it appears that the switch has been replaced as the plastic and connections look brand new. I took a peak under the steering column and the wires come out and connect to an 8 or 9 pin junction that then distributes them out further. That is where my investigation ended for now. A lot of the wires looked monkeyed with under the dash so it's almost impossible to follow the wiring diagram I have. Does anyone know how the wires that come out of the switch are supposed to be routed? Looking at this wiring harness makes me want to get a new remanufactured one and just spend a week rewiring to stock. I think there is a white, red yellow, yellow green, green, and green yellow coming off of the switch under the steering wheel. Any hints can help, thank you! God I hate electrical problems....Sad

  1960 383 cross ram engine
Posted by: alwayslooking - 12-24-14, 11:42 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

I’m new to Mopar so when people here you have a Mopar they want to sell what they have laying around. With that being said a friend of a friend had a 383 for sale so I figured I check it out well it turns out to be a 1960 383 cross ram motor. The car was ordered by a local police dept. and they didn’t take all they ordered he bought the car new. In the 70’s the car got side swiped and instead of fixing he pulled the motor and junked the car. He feels the motor with all original parts on it is worth more then I paid for my whole car. Is there anyone out that knows what these motors are worth and can you shed some light on why.

Thanks for the help
Joe

  '66 CORONET GAS FILLER SEAL

Looking for some advice. Steele Rubber is offering this gas filler gasket that's supposed to fit all mopars through '66. It's clearly round in shape (looks like a toilet bowl gasket!). The photo is of my car and, what appears to be, an oval shaped opening and no gasket. I've always wanted to locate the proper piece but I'm not sure about this one. Has anyone had occasion to replace this gasket with the one from Steele? Their part # is 70-3622-39 and it sells for $22.70 U.S. I first saw this in my Mopar Muscle magazine.

Anyone with a parts manual who can verify if this is the correct piece? It's supposed to replace MOPAR part # 2203472.

Thanks to all and Merry Christmas!!

Harold P

  Newb from N.J. 65 coronet
Posted by: alwayslooking - 12-23-14, 09:02 PM - Forum: New Members - Replies (12)

Hi all
Just picked up a 65 coronet was a 6cyl 3spd now has a 440 4spd 8 ¾ rear. Last owner put in big block k frame & wheel well headers. The last owner had dual quads on the car because I found an old for sale write up in the trunk & it was listed but I didn’t get any of that with the purchase . I would like to do a cross ram dual quad set up, any advice on that would be great.
Can anyone tell me are any other years bucket seats that will be correct for my car. I think the 63,64 polara & fury look similar to what I’ve seen in pictures on my 65.

Thank for any help
Joe

Torque Thrust D Wheels with pie crust cheaters.
Posted by: Hibbing_Coronet_500 - 12-17-14, 04:37 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

I am planing on buying 4 brand new Torque Thrust D wheels for my 67. I think those pie crust cheater slicks look cool as hell.
Does anyone on here use those? Are they street able for the weekend drives around town? Or should they be for track duty only?

I understand they are not a all weather tire! And my 67 is not a all weather car.
Is be buying the dot approved ones with the checker flag siping for tread.

Any advise would be welcomed!
Thanks in advance.
