  1 of 1 coronet

According to the production figures there was only 1 1968 hemi 4 speed RT convertible built in 1968. This is what in my opinion is a true 1 of 1. I personally don't think you go any further into the options (including paint color) to determine how many of a particular car were built. If you do, half the cars out there would be 1 of 1. I am wondering if any stories of it's death or ongoing life have been told. I would imagine that this is something Govier has looked into. There is all kind of interest in Hemi Cuda verts, yet I don't think any of them are a 1 of 1. I am sure almost all of you heard about the one just recently selling at Mecum for what they say is a record price - 3.5 million. I wonder if anyone agrees with me that if this RT was put up for auction it would have a tough time reaching 1 million. I guess it goes back to the answer to the question "What is it worth?" The answer being whatever someone is willing to pay for it. One more thing I find interesting. If you look at these numbers for 68 and 69 RT and GTX hemi convertibles, which are all basically the same car, there were more of the 68 GTX's made than the other 3 combined. Wonder why?

VIN# W451122005 -that car was traded in for ours. It was a '65 Coronet 2dr Hardtop
Posted by: 67RTBlue - 03-03-15, 02:45 PM - Forum: Car History -- Build Sheet Lost & Found - Replies (3)

We have the original bill of sale on our '67 from Hodges Dodges and the orginal owner traded in a '65 for ours. Were the VIN's on '65 cars shorter or did they abbreviate it on the paperwork? It would be cool to know if his trade in was still out there somewhere and how it was optioned out.

  '70 dart qtr. emblens
Posted by: cd45harris - 03-02-15, 05:41 AM - Forum: Tech Q&A - No Replies

I know, I know- this is a Coronet form, I also know most of us are just dodge fanatics. I have hit up some of the A-Body forms with this same question and no luck. I need help with referrence points on the quarter panel emblems on my '70 swinger. If I get measurements for the "Dart" emblem I can sort out the "Swinger" emblem. I was thinking door jamb to "D" and body line to top of "D" or top of quarter to top of "D".

Thanks for any and all help in advance.

Trick to install the dreaded lower dash bezels
Posted by: Billb66 - 02-26-15, 04:24 PM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - No Replies

So this morning I spent 35 minutes trying to install 1 (one) of the screws that hold the lower dash bezel in. I don't believe a hobbit could put them all in. I suppose at the factory these go on before the instrument panel, radio etc.

In my case that stuff needed to be there to be wired and I wasn't taking it out.

After pondering it for a while I came up with a plan and off to the auto parts store I went. I bought some of those plastic push in rivets and altered them.

Cut the head off them. Trimmed them so they fit in the bezel screw hole. then 2 part epoxied them in.

Something is going to give if I have to get them back out but that shouldn't be for a while. Knock on wood.

I had to drop the steering column and loosen the inst cluster but that was way faster than trying to squeeze screws in from the back side.

Posted by: blownNinjected - 02-26-15, 03:22 PM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - Replies (4)

I'm looking for a few door striker screws, better yet if they make a better quality, like stainless? Any ideas or directions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 1969 Dodge Coronet 440, I ordered the Mechanics Manual and haven't recieved yet. Is it true you have to remove the Windshield to remove the dash??
