Posted by: Hibbing_Coronet_500 - 02-19-13, 11:05 AM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (1)

I have looked all over the internet for the proper way to adjust the kick down linkage on a big block with a 727. I have the factory linkage and springs.Right now... I have it set.... @ Full throttle... it moves linkage "all" the way to the rear. With the return spring keeping slotted arm tight against the pin. It just dont seem right? Thanks you.

OK, some of you know I have a soft spot for 67 GTXs (yes in the plural) as well as Coronets. I came across this one and was scrolling through the pics until I saw it, well, you find the problem. Are they that dumb, or just color blind?

For such a nice car, what on earth were they thinking?

My buddies Barracuda is listed for sale again by the new owner. We have allot of fond memories together putting this car together. He had a stroke right after we finished the car and I probably drove it more than he did due to he could not control the clutch with a weak leg. He has recovered from the stroke now so all is good, we still go to car shows and swap meets like old times.

  1966 Coronet 500 past owners?
Posted by: Rob - 02-17-13, 08:59 PM - Forum: Car History -- Build Sheet Lost & Found - Replies (1)

My 66 500 was driven from California to Las Vegas, New Mexico yearly to visit relatives. In 78 or 79 the engine blew and it was towed to Art's Dodge in Las Vegas. A new car was sold to the people, The 500 got a 318 from a total loss low miles Cordoba and the Poly 318 was sent to scrap. In 1980 My best friend and I were looking for our first cars and we had a route on Sunday's to hit all car lots in Vegas. I found the 500 and Monday after school my dad and I bought it and I made payments on the first of many Mopars. ( My buddy bought a 1973 fresh plum Pierre Cardin Javelin that he still ownes). It was pale Yellow with a green/gold interior, Vin WP23E65123***. If anyone knows of this car, I would like to hear about her past. Thanks

  1972 Coronet Starting Issues
Posted by: DreamRyder1963 - 02-16-13, 08:30 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (9)

Hey. I am new to Mopars and looking for help with this car. I have a 1972 Coronet Custom with a 318 auto. The car has been converted to push button start. When I turn on the power and push the button all I get is a click and all power shuts down. The headlights and interior lights shut off and will not return until I remove the battery and reinstall it. The car was working perfectfully until about a month after I got it. I have replaced the battery, starter, and solenoid. I hope I can get some clues to this problem.

Thanks,
Joseph

  727 Needs seals
Posted by: Hibbing_Coronet_500 - 02-15-13, 11:14 AM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (7)

I have been working like crazy on my 67 over the winter months here in Minnesota. (Just ordered a new radiator)
Anyway im all done with 90% of my planned repairs.

I am blessed with a big block 727 that will hold fluid for about 24 hours. After that? Its a "crime scene" under my car.

Its been on jack stands all winter and I am going to drop the 727. Should I put seals in it? or send it out for a rebuild?

I worked at a tranny shop years ago when I was young and strong. Now im old and weak but also smarter.

Any advise?

Ive linked to the dart because thats the only dodge ones they have right now. Not sure if the radios were the same or not? Still very cool though.
