Putting new throttle cable on tomorrow. A few questions.
Posted by: cnmsales - 02-21-13, 12:38 PM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (11)

I will be putting a new throttle cable on tomorrow by myself and would appreciate some guidance. I have a few questions.

#1 After I disconnect the cable at both end, will I slide it out into the car, or under the hood. The metal piece that butts up against the firewall. Is this attached/has to be unscrewed, or will the entire thing just pop out?

#2 Im pretty sure the cable I have is going to be a tad to long. So How do I attach it to the gas pedal with the extra length of cable?

Thanks in advance for assistance.

  Upholstery Patterns for 66'
Posted by: stamm321 - 02-20-13, 01:37 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

Has anyone seen repro seat covers with this pattern? My drivers side had this and I was told it was the original. (the remainder had been redone in Mex. at some point)

Browsing through cars today I ran into this pic and it made me wonder if the pattern is really original to a Net or perhaps another model like a Belvedere??.

This is my car prior to tear down.

And this is the picture I ran across tonight on another website. I think its a Belvedere because of the door panels.

New question: Kick down linkage adjustment....
Posted by: Hibbing_Coronet_500 - 02-19-13, 11:05 AM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (1)

I have looked all over the internet for the proper way to adjust the kick down linkage on a big block with a 727. I have the factory linkage and springs.Right now... I have it set.... @ Full throttle... it moves linkage "all" the way to the rear. With the return spring keeping slotted arm tight against the pin. It just dont seem right? Thanks you.

Yet annother what were they thinking?????

OK, some of you know I have a soft spot for 67 GTXs (yes in the plural) as well as Coronets. I came across this one and was scrolling through the pics until I saw it, well, you find the problem. Are they that dumb, or just color blind?

For such a nice car, what on earth were they thinking?

  Barracuda

My buddies Barracuda is listed for sale again by the new owner. We have allot of fond memories together putting this car together. He had a stroke right after we finished the car and I probably drove it more than he did due to he could not control the clutch with a weak leg. He has recovered from the stroke now so all is good, we still go to car shows and swap meets like old times.
