My new Y2 69 Bee project
Posted by: mattsmopars - 04-25-13, 11:06 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (15)

Well, I finally got my new 69 bee project today. I have had it bought for a while, but I got it home today. Overall a good solid car to start with, and basically complete. A life long Oregon car that was last registered in 1980.
Looks like someone has done a little body work here and there and primered a few spots, but for the most part it is original paint.
Its is a 383, 4 speed, bucket seat, console, N96 ramcharger hood, N85 tachometer, M46 side scoop, power disc brakes, deluxe interior car.
Has a replacement 69 383 Hp motor, and the original matching numbers 4 speed.
It has all of the ramcharger hood parts including the correct air cleaner. I also have the correct shifter and console, but everything is off and was in the trunk.

Anyway just thought I would share a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.
BTW if anyone needs a car moved I would recommend Bill from Bill's Autoworks.
He did a great job, with great communication and was right on time! You can find alot of references for him over on the HAMB message board

Thanks, Matt

  Electric fans.
Posted by: Ledsled 75 - 04-25-13, 02:00 PM - Forum: The Swan Song Years 1971-1976 - Replies (5)

It seems like I'm always tinkering on the motor, it's getting really old having to take the radiator out whenever I have to take the fan off! Are electric fans worth running, if so should I run a single or double fan setup? Thanks in advance.

66 coronet - Question about inside door painting
Posted by: SmartPatrol - 04-24-13, 05:54 PM - Forum: Coronet Restoration/Paint Shop/Body Shop - Replies (6)

Hey there. Can you guys open your doors and upload me some pictures of how the black upper and lower portions are painted on the inside of your doors (above and below the inside door panels). This is sort of hard to describe here. But basically I need to know where to stop the car color paint and start the black inside door paint. Where is that seam? Is it covered by weather stripping in the jams? Any pictures would be greatly appreciated!

American Collector Ins. New Web Show-- American Detours
Posted by: Piper - 04-24-13, 11:26 AM - Forum: Show Annoucements/Clubs - No Replies

In an email to me Jason from American Collectors ask me to share this with my car buddies

-----------------------------

Hey Kevin,

I know we have not been in touch since your show last year but I was curious if you could help us promote something. I am reaching out to all of my contacts for this.

I have something I would like to share with you to see if you could share with your auto contacts and even non-auto contacts (and maybe they could share with their friends!). We just launched a new online webtv show called American Detours. It has 6 episodes with a bunch of additional features being shared on the website.

For the show, we take one classic car owner and take their car out on a classic road. Our first episode is in the Creole Trail. The show is really about highlighting the area, the people, the owner of the car, and the car itself. The attached newsletter and press release below say it best though. This was something we did for the hobby. We are really hoping to spread the word on the show to get others more involved in the hobby while also really giving car guys something they can enjoy.

It is www.AmericanDetoursTV.com and if you have any questions about it, please let me know.

Light and wiper switch removal 67 Coronet
Posted by: JohnS - 04-23-13, 08:47 AM - Forum: Tech Q&A - Replies (3)

Ok,

So I have taken the dash out to access the switches from above but for the life of me can`t see how they actualy come out. When I lay on my back and look in from behind it`s so restricted I can`t see a great deal. There is a very small metal button on the underside of the light switch which I pressed in and at the same time pulled the button on it`s shaft out but that`s about it.

Any help or pointers would be very much appreciated

Cheers

John
