This car was originally equipped with A/C and this hole in the dash housed the center A/C vent. I have removed it and I'm going to install a panel to hold some indicator (idiot) lights.

I made the panel out of aluminum and I'm still figuring out how I want to lay it out (cardboard pattern) It'l have a large oil pressure lite, and 3 small LED's. One for fuel pump (blue), one for water pump (green) and one for charge (alt) indicator (red)

Still have to decide which O/P light to use - the one with the chrome bezel uses a incandescent bulb and the other one is a LED that is normally used as a marker lamp for semi trucks and trailers. The LED is much brighter.

Another step closer - new in the box saved $250 on these!

If you need some help with the panel or putting an access plate in your Indy plate let me know. My new toy (3 axis cnc bed mill with digitizer) is just about running and I am dying to kick some parts out..............
My buddy does wonders with powder coating and is quite reasonable.

Haven't done much with the car lately - too damn hot here in Vegas in the summer. Finished the layout for my "idiot" light panel and got the holes drilled. Originally I was going to leave it with a bare aluminum finish but figured it wouldn't look right in the blue dash. I thought I might paint it the same color as the dash but I didn't have any paint left over from my other '66's interior restoration. I decided to paint it Wrinkle finish black. Still collecting parts too - check out this jewelry -

those look beefy
Update - I took the block to my machinist to make sure the cylinders will go .030. Dennis says its good to go. Now I can bring it back home and do the block fill on it. I'm gonna do a half fill on the water jackets. After that's done back to him for machine work.

I have finished the block fill with Hardblock - this is a real pain in the ass but I got it done. After the holidays I'll take the block to my machinist for the line hone and to square the deck(s)

I also started mocking up the rear disc brakes, I took some measurements, made a drawing and am going to have some brackets water jet cut. They will bolt on and also be welded - more on this later.
