Engine Masters has a really good comparison on oil pumps...

Basically, unless you're building this type of engine, a stock Mellings pump is more than adequate.
I was going to buy a new pump for this engine regardless and I wanted an external pickup so I got the Milodon.
I can't wait to see what it runs.. it ought to be a screamer..
Looks great Jeff. Dyno yet? popcorn
Great pics too thank you
  • [INDENT]Getting ready to put the new "bullet" in the chamber - took a few hours to clean up the garage, ended up throwing away the car cover that had been on the car since it was parked, it was full of dust.

    Weird picture isn't it?

Before the engine install I bolted on this really bitchin' machined aluminum plate. It covers all the firewall holes on a car with factory A/C. I saw it for sale on one of the Mopar sites and had to have it.

  • [INDENT]My brother and old friend helped me put it in - it was an epic battle but we got it done.

  • [INDENT]Update,
It's been runnin' for some time, haven't had much time to work on it. I finished mocking up the rear end (centering in wheel wells and setting pinion angle) got the spring perches welded on. I installed the Wilwood discs on the rear, pulled front calipers to clean them and install new brake hoses. packed the wheel bearings, installed the master cylinder and bled the brakes. Ordered the new driveshaft and installed it. One issue I had with the new motor was that the Pan E vac system was pulling oil out of the breather box. I took it apart and added a second layer of shielding. This fixed it -
