SmartPatrol Wrote:BTW... I dunno about you, but I tried replacing my tank, tank to body pad, with a new strap and j bolt. What a freaking nightmare this was. The J bolt that Layson's restoration supplied wasn't anywhere near the same as the original one. The new strap was creased the opposite way it should;ve been, and the tank wouldn't allow the old strap to wrap around it easily. I literally had to use a scissor jack and all of my might to wrap the old strap and J bolt up into the car. The pad wouldn't fit. It was Beeeeeyond tight. Hello Josh, I won't get into what I think about the folks that work at Layson's, but if they sold you a gas tank strap mounting J bolt that looks like the one below, I can see why you had trouble installing your gas tank strap, because that style J bolt is absolutely NOT correct for the 1966 and 1967 Dodge and Plymouth B-Body cars! The correct J bolt for the 1966 and 1967 B-Body cars looks like this and as far as I know, nobody is reproducing it, so if your original is missing, you will need to find a used one somewhere. With the correct J bolt in place, you shouldn't have any issues installing a new insulator pad between the top of the fuel tank and the bottom of the car. Richard

He also needs to paint the axle tube the correct color. That black is 1.2pigments too dark for a 66..
Laysons has the correct color he needs...

Layson's having the correct ANYTHING for a Mopar!!!! I'm laughing so hard right now that I'm almost crying!!! It's either your joke, or maybe I'm just remembering the last transaction that I had with them years ago!!! Opps, I guess that I'm not being "politically correct" with those comments huh?
