Dionisio -C- Wrote:Why would they do this, I know there is not many classic Mopars out there (well at least in my area) as say Chebby's and Ferds. This indeed is scary as I presume the cost if and when they do pop up will see an inflation in price due to them becoming scarce/ less production???? This is scary I finally have the means to put money in Darlene and having extra trouble with locating parts........NOT WHAT I NEED at the moment.
I'm going to pass on answering that question because my opinion on the reason why this is happening differs from many others here. I'll just say that like Bob Dylan sang back in the early 1960's, the times they are a changin'........

Did you purchase the Factory Service Manual in a CD format, a printed book format, or both formats like I do!
I think that you will also really like the laminated wiring diagrams, as they are very durable and are printed in color which make them easier to read. I would highly recommend that you contact the seller of those diagrams before you purchase them and ask them for all of the various diagrams that they offer for the 66 Coronets and also let him know that you own a sedan model. I bought these laminated diagrams for my 66 Coronet 500 hardtop several years ago and I believe that they offer several different pages of diagrams for our 66 Coronet models.
Good to hear that you were able to save some money at Year One. Hopefully they won't make that savins back from you via their shipping charges. Please let us know how you and Darlene like your new M&H rear tail light harness ok?
Richard
I purchased the print version of the manual, I had some funds available in paypal, however since he is local to me I do plan on getting the CD format once I swing by to pick the manual up. I'm hoping he can let me purchase the CD manual in person haha.
Interesting I figured the wiring on our Coronets would differ based upon them being a Sedan, Hardtop, or Convertible. Ill make sure to check that out in the case that no sedan diagrams are available what would you recommend Rich? Or would I dead in the water, last thing that I would want would be electrical mishaps. In regards to the harness purchase wellllllllll, yea shipping ate some of the savings pissed off overall still payed under the original price so some savings is better than nothing. Ill keep you guys posted I hope Darlene enjoys the new harness as well. This summer should be good as I'm taking a semester off from school so more time available to get some projects done on the old girl.

As far as ordering the correct laminated wiring diagrams, there will be some differences between different trim level cars as well as different body styles and options ordered on each car.
As an example of this, cars equipped with factory air conditioning have an additional piece of dashboard wiring harness that non a/c equipped cars do not have, or cars like mine that came equipped with factory power windows that have several additional pieces of wiring harness to operate those windows that cars without power windows do not have. It's just a good idea to contact the seller of the diagrams before you buy them to make sure that you get all they offer for your particular car.

When I did my engine compartment, I got a harness from Evans Wiring. I had him wire in for electronic ignition so I wasn't concerned about originality. All the wires seemed the correct length and no problems with it so far
I love Mopars so much I'm date coding the skid marks in my underwear.

Hmm okay so it's basically extra wires for the other components, being that my Coronet is a 440 model it did come with factory A.C and a Radio. Thanks Rich, and I apologize for any dumb questions. I'm no good when it comes to electrical, in fact I kiiinda fear it have been kicked before by electricity no fun.

I also have experience with Bill Evans. Pretty significant experience actually. I would not hesitate to use him again - at least in the past he was quite a bit cheaper than Year One.
However I did have more issues with Bill than the YO stuff. One harness had a set of wires that were 2 sizes too small (the sizes are in the factory service manual wiring diagram). His stuff also had more bad crimps than the YO stuff, but the YO stuff was not perfect either.
