Anyone ever taken out the door handle button from the door handle before? It looks like the the back round housing is wedged into place holding the button into place and there is a slot to use a screwdriver to pry it out. But, I don't want to break anything. I want to rechrome all 4 of my handles, but I have to get the buttons out first.

I figured it out. There is a tab you can't see in which you have to stick an awl or toothpick down in the slot. Press in and the backing comes out. You might have to slightly pry the backing up due to grit, but once the tab is pressed in, it should come right out.
