Hello Moe832 and welcome to the DCR!

If I may, I'd like to give you a bit of help over and above just hopefully answering your question regarding the front bumper brackets on your 1965 Coronet. That advice would be to purchase a copy of the Factory Service Manual for your car if you don't already own one. If you don't have a copy, please let me know and I can refer you to a company that is licensed by Chrysler to reproduce and sell these manuals as well as reproductions of Factory Parts Books and Factory Owners Manuals.

The Factory Service Manuals will provide you with a tremendous amount of information on how your car was built and how to work on just about every assembly on the car, including the front and rear bumpers. These manuals are reproduced in both a printed book format as well as in a CD format. It will be the best investment you will make on your car.

With that being said, I have posted two pages below from the 1965 Factory Parts Book that shows all of the parts involved on both the front and rear bumper assemblies for the 1965 Coronet models and a second diagram which shows the rear bumper assemblies for the 1965 Coronet and Plymouth Belvedere station wagon models which use a different rear bumper. That way you will know what parts you're looking at on Ebay or elsewhere which will allow you to purchase the correct parts for your application. Wink

I hope this information helps and once again, please let me know if you're interested in purchasing a copy of the 1965 Coronet Factory Service Manual which will also give you this information.

I appreciate your reply Richard...I have been knocking my head over how can I place my bumper back on.
I did order the service manual last week and it should be arriving this week on the mail. But please send me the information you have just in case the one I order is not good, then I can purchase all the ones I need!

But I still have one question Richard, and I do not know if you can really answer this, or if you have a 65 and can show me by pics.....How do I suppose to attach the brackets in the schematic you sent me to the mount on my car?

Look at the pics I attached and the mount / brackets I have highlighted in red......6150]6149]

Thanks for your help Richard!

Moe.. you'll need to remove those brackets you have circled. Those appear to be put on so a tow bar could be attached.
I love Mopars so much I'm date coding the skid marks in my underwear.

Hello Moe,

I personally own a 1966 Coronet 500 2 door hardtop and have owned a 1966 Coronet 440 2 door hardtop and a 1967 Coronet R/T 2 door hardtop in the past, so my experience is with the 1966 and 1967 Coronet models. I will need to let some of our other members here on the DCR who own 1965 Coronet models answer any specific questions you might have for your model year, as there were many changes to the Coronets from 1965 to 1966.

While I do not have access to a 1965 Coronet Factory Service Manual, I was able to find a couple of pages from the 1965 Plymouth Belvedere and Satellite Factory Service Manual regarding front bumper mounts and they do show the 1965 Coronet there as well, so maybe this will give you some additional views on how this assembly is mounted.

Some model codes that you will see on these two pages are as follows:

AV = Plymouth Valiant models
AP = Belvedere and Satellite models
AR = Coronet models

Here is a picture of the Chrysler approved and licensed 1965 Coronet Factory Service Manual in the CD format that I will give you an Ebay auction link to below. This manual also includes all of the 1965 Dodge A-Body and C-Body cars as well as the 1965 Coronet B-Body models.

An Ebay auction link to purchase the 1965 Dodge Factory Service Manual in a CD format from Faxon Auto Literature which is licensed by Chrysler as I mentioned.

Faxon also offers the 1965 Factory Service Manual in a printed book format which includes just the 1965 Dodge Coronet and 1965 Dodge Dart models.

Here is the Home Page link to Faxon Auto Literature's website if you'd rather purchase the manual directly from them as opposed to an Ebay auction. This will also give you a chance to see what other items they sell for your Coronet.

I hope this helps and hopefully some of our other 1965 Coronet owners will chime in here and will offer you more specific advice than I'm able to.

Richard
