Any plug experts wanna chime in? We just use it as a cruiser. I will nail it here and there to clean out the carbon. Do they look normal? I wanna have the A/F ratio checked again-02 sensor bungs in the exhaust system and a local guy has a chassis dyno. Eddy 750 and always try to keep a few gallons of race fuel mixed into regular premium.
Pics are of cyls 2,4,6,8.

Well I will take a stab. I don't think they look bad. That's not carbon - its fuel deposits. How much run time on these plugs?

Admittedly they have 1000 miles on them. Same plugs from break in to now. Car was cold idling before they were pulled. Today I pulled a couple and they had less deposits. Good idea to change em just because?

Changed em out today.
Now I’m hazing maybe fuel percolating issues! Cruises fine. Stop in traffic and it’s like the carb cooks all the fuel and the car just runs out of gas. Didn’t have this issue last summer! Died on Woodward tonight for couple hours. Fuel poured in the carb got it going again. Pissed!

Is your exhaust system away from fuel lines?

You might need to add an electric pump with a return line.

Our crappy fuel isn't helping either, and I agree with Mark on plugs which goes along with the crap gas.

I had a fuel percolating problem on my dart. I put one of those aluminum plates under it, it extends out under the carburetor and is supposed to block the heat. It helped my car, I think Holley makes them.

Me being the cheap bastard that I am made one out of laminate flooring to see if it would help. It's been on there over 5 years now.

I did install the Edelbrock heat plate and on the couple short drives so far the carb feels cooler to the touch. I also addes some wire sheathing to the fuel lines near the header and up to the carb. I wrapped the fuel filter in some leftover heat wrap and will give this a try!
