Back up light switch location

Hello All

Where is the switch for the back up light located on a 1966 coronet ??? Ive been told it is in the steering column and ive been told its on the transmission housing.
any ideas?

On a column shift automatic car, it's on the column. On a floor shift automatic car, it's on the shifter in the console.

On a manual shift, it's on the transmission.
