Oh by the way. The shaft I have in the car now is a small joint shaft at 52 inches on center.
Anyone know what lenght shaft is in their 67 Coronet 383/727/8.75?
Your driveshaft should be 52.03 inches long center u joint to center u joint. It should be 2.75 inches diameter and have an inertia ring and may or may not have a rubber insulation in the tube. Assuming it is a 318 or larger engine. A 273 would have a 56.17 inch long shaft.
I think you have the correct driveshaft. What engine is in it?
Question is are the new leaf springs locating the axle in the same location as the old leaf springs?
Do you have a factory service manual for the car? If not, download it for free from mymopar.com I got the driveshaft info from the service manual.
My car was born a 318 car. Sometime long ago.. Someone out in a big block 383. They used the conversion motor mounts of the era.
The leaf springs I replaced were not original as well.
I bought the best I could based on make model etc.
Got pics to upload. Most are upside down? If you look at the yoke tube? You will see the wear mark from the old tail shaft seal. It stuck out about 3/4 inch. The new tail shaft seal is flush! These pictures are installed with weight on suspension.
