Can anyone tell me if rear seat belts were an option in the 65 coronet? I saw an earlier post that they were an option in 66, but I believe there was a redesign in 1966. Can anybody let me know? If not, does anybody know of way to add seat belts to the rear seat? Need a spot for the kids.

I've had the interior out of my 65 and I don't remember seeing anywhere to mount seat belts but that was 13 years ago and I could be wrong. I would think it would be pretty easy to make some fit with a drill, a few nuts/bolts/washers and possibly some welding.

Honcho, do you mean they were an option in 65?
If yes, are the located behind the back of the rear seat or under the bottom of the rear seat?

Mine I think are loacted under rear seat,I think, i haven't had my seat out in awhile

Does anybody know how to remove the back of the rear seat? Honcho thanks for the help so far.

If memory serves me correct, you must first remove the bottom of the rear seat (accomplished by pushing in/towards the trunk on the frame of the seat at the bottom where it meets the carpet. This is done on both sides approx. 10 inches in from the rockers. You push back about an inch and then lift up to remove from the hooks welded to the floor. Once the lower portion is removed you should see a couple of bolts that hold the rear portion to the floor where it angles up for axle clearance. Remove these bolts and then lift upward on the seat back assembly. This should disengage it from the hooks it hangs on.
