Can a bad pump cause this condition?

All Is tight, yet it slops on the threads, Causing alot of defelection..
It even clunks once you know its there...
That sounds dangerous. I've never seen the sleeve slip before. Had my pitman arm loosen on my big truck this winter, but never seen that before. Glad you found it.
