M/T valve covers
#1
I know we just had a short discussion on these while hijacking someone else's thread. I just finished cleaning and painting the set I have. Does anyone know the part number for the pcv grommet? It has about a 1.5" OD hole8961

If it's the same as the original hole size, then you can get it at Rick auto very easily Jeff.

I looked up a grommet on rock auto for say a 70 coronet and it said it had an OD a little smaller than 1.5" I bought one of those but it was way to small. I should say it needs to fit into a 1.5" hole.

I will be installing a set of the M/T covers on the 440 in my Coronet as well Jeff and It looks as if the grommets from my older set of chrome Direct Connection valve covers will work in the M/T covers as well. I haven't had a chance to verify if the PCV grommet from the DC covers will work yet, but I have verified that the breather grommet will work, at least it will on my set up with the M/T covers and an aftermarket set of billet breathers. I'll take a picture and will post it here for you.

The grommets I'm using are from the Mopar Performance valve cover accessory kit that I purchased to use with the stamped steel chrome DC covers and this kit includes 12 chrome valve cover bolts and washers, one chrome oil cap and one breather and one pcv grommet. This kit is part number P4120272, but they also sell just the grommets as a set under part number P5007419. Summit Racing sells this MP grommet set under their part number DCC-5007419.

You may want to check this out and see if it will work for you and as Rich mentioned, your M/T covers look great!

Here are some pictures that I just took of one of my M/T valve covers that shows the breather in place and off of the cover so that you can see the MP grommet Jeff. As you mentioned, the diameter of the hole in the M/T cover is 1.5" inches and the inside diameter of the MP grommet is 1.0 inch.

Cool! Thanks! Btw I just found out that a pcv grommet from a magnum engine is the correct size(I took the grommet out of a 92 318 I have) it's standard part # 3751510 available at any parts store.

Wow!!! Those look awesome!!

Thank you!

Thank you also for the Mopar part number for the PCV grommet! Do you know what the diameter of the inside hole is where the PCV valve is mounted is?

If my MP PCV grommet doesn't work, I'll purchase one of those!
